Hi again captain! Sorry, I’m a bit phone shy. I’m not sure when the Shad run here exactly, but in years past, I’ve caught them in February -April. I live in Port Jervis NY. Easy to find on a map. Just look to where NY, NJ and PA meet up. That’s exactly where I go Shad fishing. At the Tristates monument. Thank you sir for the videos! Maybe sometime I’ll muster up the courage to call you. If you want to get in touch with me, please email salviadreamer@yahoo.com. My boys have such a great time when we actually hook up with a Shad. We use ultra light tackle because like you said, they’re fragile and you can’t force them. We use 4lb test on small rods and man it’s exciting! Wish we had a boat that’d be safe out there on the river this time of year, but our dinky little rowboat and super old trolling motor can’t handle the current. In summer when the river is lower, we can go out in the boat and go bass fishing at least, but this time of year, it’s not safe enough for me to bring my kids out there so we fish from shore. Anyway, looking forward to more of your videos! And I agree, get out of the office! Shoot some videos on the water catching some fish!!!
@@CaptainVincentRusso That’s true, they are not smarter. Growing up I went thru not using my left hand, because the older people thought left handed people was not human, so I was forced to use my right hand.
