Thanks Erick(sp) I sharpen knives to a mirror polish but I know enough to know a razor is not a knife. I’m new to straight razors and have been enjoying this series.

I gotta wonder how often a blade should be honed...I'm interested in buying a full on straight razor since right now I use shavette straight razors where I just have to replace the blades. I'm the only one using the dang thing and it's not like I'm gonna share the razor so I've been thinking of going more old school. But if I get one I'd like to be able to hone it myself once I can get everything together since there's no local places to take them to or send them to for them to be honed...

I'm a big fan of vintage things, especially about this vintage razor. it fascinates me and makes me want to create something special but Vietnam is nothing but the stories told by my ancestors. I am missing information about steel process and material (steel type). I tried consulting some people like LEWIS RAZORS. but that's still not enough, I failed several times. PLEASE . what about the .25 micron diamond spray and balsa wood? , Ive heard that is like super charging the blade finish , Im going to try this .Heard it like a hot knife through whiskers
