Thanks so much for your great video! I was getting very frustrated trying to get my override clip to actually override and your explanation helped me fix it.

Love it. Everyday I keep trying. I’m gonna embroider a Richardson buy end of the week on my own for sure. Going back to store where I purchased to do a step by step. Fingers crossed. Thank you so much for all your help.

Jerry I’m having issues doing structured caps. The design always looks tilted. I was told it’s how the hat is hooped but I do everything the way you’ve shown. Does the sweatband lay over the front metal? I always see even when the t bar is pulled there is a gap when I remove the cap. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi Jerry, thank you for the video. I am having the rollers push out of the driver clips when the bill runs against the machine. I tried to loosen up the bill by bending it and making it more flexible but the rollers keep getting pushed out of the clip resulting in being off registration alignment. Do you have any advice? Thank you, Anne

It has been my experience that, depending on the style of hat, I can embroider approximately 3/4 of an inch from the bill. If I try to move it any closer, the back of the hat begins to tip upwards, as the bill is pressing on the underneath/back of the machine. The hat is tipping up in the back from the pressure, which is also pressing against the hat hoop, which may cause the rollers push out of their designated areas. Just try to move your design a bit further up on the hat, so the hat does not tip up/so the rollers will not pop out. Hope this helps!

Have you used the Gen2 Frame with the Brother jig? That's where I'm struggling. Kinda don't want to spend $400 for the T Bar because I just don't do enough hats to make it worth it.

The T-bar is the "magic" part of the Gen 2 hooping system. It makes hooping hats super easy.

Hi Jerry just came across this video while trying to hook my gen 2 hat system to my brother or 1050. I got it all on but it was hitting something in every direction. Any suggestions to what I did wrong. I did the scan fearture so maybe that was the problem??

Rather than using the scanning feature, I would recommend using the "live camera" option on your 1050. Let me know how this works for you!

Do you recommend the Gen2 over the BabyLock new cap frame? I have both BabyLock Venture and Brother PR1000e. I see you use the override clip on the baby lock new hoop so I figured I should just go with the Gen2. I have good outcomes with my wide cap frames but issue is the bills knocking the bag of the machine head. So I was thinking one of these frames would fix that. What are your thoughts since you have worked with both?

Hi Kelsie! Great question - they both have their strengths. My personal preference is the new Brother/Babylock cap frame. I am able to begin embroidery much closer to the bill with this hat hoop. There was a bit of a learning curve with this hat hoop, especially with hooping hats - especially with the hats with no backing/"floppy" hats. The Gen 2, with the T-bar hooping station, is fantastic for hooping - makes hooping very easy. I do have both - the Gen 2 and the new Brother/Babylook hat hoop. I use the Gen 2 back-of-hat hoop for hooping the backs and sides of hats. In order to use the Gen 2, you will need the Brother/Babylock hat hoop that affixes to your machine. The Gen 2 takes the "wide" cap hoop. The new Brother/Babylock hat hoop has a smaller diameter. The Gen 2 can accommodate wider designs. Hope this helps - they are both fantastic, but my go-to is the newer Brother/Babylock cap frame, so I may move my designs much closer to the bill. Let me know if you have any other questions!

@@mancaveembroidery For the Brother/Babylock cap frame do you always use the override bracket that came with the Gen2?

Hello Jerry, great video. I am having trouble centering the design on the hat. Once I get the cap driver installed, the hooped hat on the driver, choose my design and rotate to the center, my machine keeps defaulting to about 1-2 inches from the center. In other words.... the red centering mark on the driver keeps rotating to the left as you are looking at the machine. I have tried several different ways to get the design centered and no luck. I have a Baby Lock Enterprise. Also, in live camera view, it does not show my design the way your Brother machine does. Is this brand specific?

Hi Tami! A couple of suggestions: once you install the hat driver on your machine, you might turn off your machine, and then when it starts up, it will "center itself" with the hat hoop attached. Another thought, when you upload your design, it is centered on your screen? We did have a Babylock Enterprise, before we traded it for our Valiant. Our Enterprise had the camera feature, but did not have the "live camera" - it would only perform a "scanning" view, not a live view, if I remember correctly. Please keep me posted. :-)

Hi Ed! If you are referring to the Hoop Tech hat hoop, you do not necessarily need the hat hooping station....BUT the t-bar hooping system is what "makes" this hat hoop work so well. If you are going to invest the money in the Hoop Tech hat hoop, I would very highly recommend the t-bar hooping system.
