American Alligators are one of the new species included in the beautiful new DLC Map Mississippi Acres Preserve! And boy, are they tough to hunt! Today's video shows how difficult they can be to hunt, how to hunt them, best weapons, best hot spots and techniques for putting that diamond alligator in your lodge. Mississippi is the best DLC Map to come out of The Hunter Call of the Wild for a very long time! And Alligators are going to definitely be a fan favourite! Nice video I like the map but I think it's stupid to have the gators a class 6 and why do they keep running away gators should be very aggressive the wild pigs are more aggressive then the gators

Gators in real life are very docile. They are easily scared/ run away. They only attack unless provoked/are hungry during feeding time. Which is at dusk.

This video helped me find them in numbers rather than just 1 for every 15-20mins of walking been trying to get a diamond for the lodge ITS HARD but the .338 kills on the spot with just a skull/jaw shot and maybe 10-15yrds with double lung also that guns rocks with cape Buffalo nice video appreciate the content

After hours of game play, I can agree this is a difficult map to hunt. Small game with thick bayou swampland and the gators taking precise killshots. I did find the eastern side with the 3 lakes and tan terrain area to be more open for grey fox hunting. Not sure if raccoon are there but luring them to the streets of the field areas makes hunting them a bit easier.

Got the map this morning, love it...The only thing I noticed, maybe others can tell me if they have same problem. I claimed an outpost, then went to another area to figure out how to cross river and when I looked at map, the outpost wasn't showing up. I play on PS4, also while driving ATV, when I got to pilgrim bend, the game crashed. I told EW about it, haven't got a response yet. Lady, love the guides and videos!!!!

It seems like when you get really close, you can't see them on the map. Only an issue when discovering OPs but annoying I know. Devs know about it.

Well that explains why my big level 7 took a good lung hit from the .30-06 and still disappeared. I didn’t realize they won’t always float even when dead.

Thanks for the tip found the zone along the coast but man those suckers are hard to get a shot on I am using the grelck drilling rifle select just got the map today wanted a challenge it's definitely a challenge though I have gotten my first 3 kills 2 bobwhite quail and a wild hog

something i noticed when i was tripod stand hunting for gators was that after i shot and killed one that dove and disappeared i killed another one and by the time the 2nd floated back to me the first one that dove and disappeared before it died eventually popped back up and floated back as well, you may just have to wait awhile for the ones that get away before dieing for them to float back up

They do often disappear if they get too deep but they also float back a fair bit. Depends.

Retrievers would be awesome but I don't think we'll ever get them, because it appears as though, when an animal in-game expires and stops moving (e.g. after sliding down a hill), it loses its collision physics and becomes a different kind of game entity. I'm not sure it's in the game's code that killed animals can be moved at all. As such, a lot of code would have to be re-written to make it possible for dogs to retrieve them and change the location of the claimable trophy.

I have the Te Aurora map but I've never played it. I went to purchase the 303 for alligators and it's not showing in my store - neither is the ammo. Any ideas? Do I actually have to load and play the map to get the gun available for purchase

They're not broken. The alligators don't float to you if they get deep. They're challenging. It's intended that way. I love it!

My first time running into a gator it was an 8 mythical that popped up from the river coming at me. I shot it twice with a .270 and it disappeared into the depths. RIP

Not to sound like a total noob, but is the default Ranger 243 enough to hunt gators with, or do I need something bigger. My closest brush with success actually came from the west coast area of the map as you suggested. I actually hit one in a vital organ, but the thing submerged and never came up. Is this a bug, am I that incompetent, or do I just need a better rifle?

You need a better rifle. It gets integrity but will take a long time for them to die and they get too far away so they don’t float. I use the 303 but the 3006 is also good or the M1. Good luck!

I was just running trough the reserve and got to Alligator lakes. I looked for some gators and saw one that was 452-523 points so possible diamond, but I scared him away bcs of my arrival there. as so pissed by it xD So I am chilling with this video and waiting for him :D Unfortunatelly I do not know where he has his zone :/

It won't work very well. You want polymers and the 270 is probably not strong enough.

I give up shooting them offland. If it was intended. Its pretty bs. I literally perfect shot a Lvl 9 off the cost, died instantly but sunk to the bottom. Then proceeded to find like 5/6 more gators, all died quickly, but not a single one came afloat. I think I’ll have a better chance finding a great one. And I haven’t found one of them yet either. I hope they fix that

If they go under and they don’t pop up just fast travel to nearest outpost and run back to the area they will be floating somewhere near the place you saw or shot it they always pop back up somewhere near the surface for me with that trick

I've been playing this map since it went public, and it rains 90% of the time. Its gloomy and foggy most of the time. It's kind of depressing to play it actually (the psychological effect of gloominess). I've lived in various areas of Mississippi for over 25 years, also in Louisiana. We have 95% beautiful, sunny days with a brief pass-thru rain event in summer afternoons (IRL). My point is that it rains far too excessively on this map, giving a depressing atmosphere. That's not the Mississippi I know. Are you all having a lot of rain on this map? Or is it just my instance of the game?

@@LadyLegendXO If playing this map almost exclusively, it might make sense to reset our stalker skill tree and drop a couple points into the "I'm only happy when it rains" skill (ie. "decrease your visibility in foggy weather" and "decrease your visibility in rainy weather"). I never really thought much of those skills, but I may have to reconsider it, if playing Mississippi Acres.

I prefer the 308 and the 303 for gators! You need a followup shot and the 338 does not give integrity on gators

Really feel like the alligator hunting in this game is broken. I can spook an alligator walking in a crouched position at over 170 yards away. Yet living in Florida have had close encounters accidentally walking up to alligators that I couldn't see around a bend going fishing. And in real life the alligators rarely spooked, it was me and my friends that spooked.

For alligators im using the 303 but you can use any class4-8 rifle.

Can alligators go diamond at mythical level because I found a max weight diamond potential but it is only 8 mythical and saw it in the water so haven’t taken it yet

I just got both and they weren’t even close even they had huge estimates so I think it is like lots of other species were they have to be 9s but it was still really fun to hunt them I find that neck like you said is the best they don’t have time to get to the water great tips

Can't play this map on PS4. It crashes every 10 minutes. I tried one of the first missions just to get to the lodge. I can't do it. I'll have to wait for a fix.

It's not a glitch. Alligators are designed to be tough! We have to drop them with a neck or heart or brain shot and not let them swim.

Great tutorial! I did notice if I lost a gator and you shoot a nearby gator, the lost one will come up. This is just the experience Ive had. I lost a mythical tonight but retrieved it this way. Several others too but the mythical had me sweating lol. And how rare is a blond piebald raccoon?
