How to Identify Fake Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Classic 

You can shine a bright light through the “black” ones and they are actually a very dark red acetate. From here you can see the metal arm rod clearly. A modern cell phone light works just fine.

Ray Ban actually released a pair of Classic Wayfarers without the tilt. Model number is RB4340. So it may not necessarily be fake. Another good way to tell is just by the sheer weight. They all have glass lenses and the acetate is heavier than the cheap plastic fakes are made of.

Somebody gave me a real pair of Ray-Ban’s for a gift. I always bought the fake ones from the poppy store in Philly $10 you put them right next to each other you can’t tell the difference you wear them you can’t tell the difference I would never spend $200 on sunglasses I would break them lose them when I can spend $10 and have a really nice pair and not have to worry about anything. There is no difference between the fakes and the reels.

Thank you for your informative video. It confirmed to me that that I have been conned. After watching this, I returned the one I bought on eBay and reported the seller today for selling fake goods. Soon as I saw the glasses, right away I had the suspicion that it's not genuine. It felt so cheap to the touch and the hinges were not smooth. It hasn't got that 7 prongs that you were talking about and the metal reinforcement inside. I hope more people can watch this video before buying. Thank you.

My Ray-Ban that I just purchased says made in Italy on the left and the model number on right The model that I purchased is RB 4340V I checked on google and all the ray bans have the model number on the left and made in logo on right. Hi, thank you for the great and very informative video. However there's one thing that nobody mentions in these real/fake videos and that is the SMELL. I bought a pair of Ray-Bans from an authorized reseller and although the glasses looks real as I was taken out of the box I immediately felt a cheap plastic-ish smell coming from the 'leather' case. I know it's faux leather but it keeps me wondering if other brand new Ray-Ban cases have this funny smell or not? Thank you!
