Thanks! That really was helpful, had no idea about all the differences between each model and it was actually disorienting..now I'll go shop with a clearer idea of what I want 😊
I really love the iconic tilted shape of the original ones. It's nitpicking but I wish they had kept it more original by not replacing the oval metal elements on the temples with the Ray Ban logo. Speaking of tilted sunglasses, Ray Ban really has to bring back 3385 Olympian II Deluxe. They look fantastic.
The original ones in 50m are the ones for me, in dark havana with g15 lenses, of course. I love how they complement almost any outfit. I personally really like the tilt, they are my absolute nr 1 go-to sunglasses. But I am thinking about getting a pair of Wayfarer Ease' or New Wayfarers as my next prescription glasses now.
It's now past half the year of 2021 but I still got the 2140 (polarized). I still have with me my 2140 (non polarized) for 8 years now. I tried all the other 3 wayfarers but nothing really beats the tilt feature of the original. Just my thought.
I wished I watched this before I got mine, I would have gone with style i picked ( the weyferer ease) but would have been less confusing to try them on and not be so overwhelmed with that many picks. I remember I asked my sunglass hut associate for the classic weyferer she showed me like a lot and at the end I saw the ease and those were like made for me but seriously weyferer, new weyferer, weyferer 2 and weyferer ease got me confused at the beginning. As I said my choice wouldn’t change but this video would have helped me to go straight to some specific models.
man the original ones with the extreme tilt look BADASS on you!! Your facial structure was made for those glasses man what u talking about!! Not all people can pull those off you are missing out dude.
I just went to sunglass hut to buy my first pair of new Raybans Wayfarer thanks to your video review I really like them a lot. I have never paid 2 bills 💸 for a pair of sunglasses 🕶 I will be taking care of them like my wallet. Keep up the good work 👍
@@sportrxeyewear The style is frequently imitated, but the quality isn't. Most of the wayfarers derivatives are made of the cheapest plastic and not reinforced with metal. Those cheap glasses also have no detailing on the temple arms. The lenses of the fake wayfarers usually aren't optical quality The RayBan wayfarer glasses are made of a high quality plastic that's reinforced with metal. Not to mention the lenses are optical quality.
@@chexhcatialo3889 mmm not always, I don’t support cheapies badly made but the wayfarers is style brands like YSL copy and theirs isn’t as cool as the RayBans. Many luxury brands do the Weyferer and the aviator but no does like better than Ray Ban They are the best in aviators and weyferers.

Thanks for the video, I must have watched it a dozen times by now, It helped me choose the original wayfarer classic, and years later I came back here to clear some doubts about the wayfarer ease which I ended up choosing as the frame for my prescription glasses.
I have the New Wayfarer, and love it. Debating picking up a classic one, which looks great but isn't as comfortable. I'm male, I think the original looks best on women too. Of the 4, it looks best on Alana. Ease looks good. I really dislike the "2". It's too far a departure from the original to be called a Wayfarer, and the design changes aren't improvements.
Hello! I, too, have been loving the New Wayfarer for years! I hear what you're saying about the Original being slightly less comfortable. I'd definitely recommend giving the Wayfarer Ease a shot. It looks exactly like the Original- just without the tilt! That fixes the fit issue that can sometimes create discomfort on the Original. Also, thanks for sharing your feedback on the Wayfarer Collection! You've got a sharp eye.
Hey Paul! Yes! We're big fans of Rob's custom New Wayfarers! Here's an insider tip: Any of the Ray-Ban sunglasses we offer at SportRx can be made with prescription lenses :)
The Wayfarer ll looks 'girly' with that curve shape! No wonder the woman there looked awesome whenever she tried it on! The original and the ease looks masculine compared to the new one. But did learn a lot! Thank you!!🙏🏻🙌🏻
The original and ease are truly unisex. Men and women rock them alike. Masculine, masculine go with the Persol though the downside is the price. But no one goes wrong with RayBan men and women look great in them.
What I dislike about all Ray Ban sunglasses is the annoying white logo on the right glass - but I have successfully managed to remove it with a coin, carefully scratching it off, without scratching the glass itself. I used to have a classical Wayfarer decades ago (when they were still produced by Bausch & Lomb), and they neither had the obtrusive logo on the right glass, nor the two logos on the arms. As is so often the case, the design in the course of time has changed for the worse.
they need to change the ridiculous temples on the 2140 and 4340 ....theyre like an inch too short ,even on most models that dont have the tiniest of heads they just dont sit right on the ears ,even look how that 55mm new wayfarer sits on Rob ,its crazy ....because of the shape the shorter temple on the new wayfarer is in effect an inch longer
If am gonna where these it’s got to have that 7 shape ,love that. Not sure about the flat side logo on the arms. I remember the Print range Ray ban did around 2013. Discontinued. That’s pushed the price up .
The only problem I have with mine is .... I can not take them on vacation. I'm always losing stuff at the beach bars . 😂 . I take a few pairs of knock offs I got in Thailand. Lol
Hey Kyle! If you're looking strictly for the original Wayfare then we'd recommend the 54: www.sportrx.com/ray-ban-rb2140-original-wayfarer-54-eyesize.html. If you are worried about them fitting reach out to one of our friendly opticians and ask about our "Test Ride Program" that we offer: www.sportrx.com/contact.
Hi Gabriela! Thanks for watching. We actually just published a definitive guide to all of the Ray-Ban Wayfarers if you'd like to watch :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aVqslSwh3Vo.html
Great vid I love the wayfarer, but you really have to know your size and model didn t knew you had so much differences and new models in the wayfarer. But it s my sunglasses I love to wear daily, got myself a new wayfarer medium. I wanted the original medium but it was to big for my head mybe I had to take the small original size, I think watching this vid.... I didn t knew there was also wayfarer who combined the old with the new... It makes a lot of sense this vid to make your choice but still like clothes is better to wear it and mybe someone point you out wich one is better for your face and for your fit!
Hello! The green corrosion buildup is very common problem! A local optician should be able to easily remove it within a few minutes using some cleaning tools & techniques.
Hi Reggie! Have you ever tried the RB2140F Wayfarer Asian Fit? You'll get the same iconic tilt and design as the Standard Fit Wayfarer, but the nose pad is built up more significantly to prevent slippage! Here's a video that shows the difference: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HVUL1jeDLOY.html And a link to the frame!: www.sportrx.com/ray-ban-rb2140f-original-wayfarer-52-eyesize-asian-fit.html
SERIOUS QUESTION: Why am I seeing the New Wayfarer RB2132 with the Ray-Ban logo name on the side temples BOTH embedded in the temples and also raised on the temples? Something feels very off about this for one model (RB2132). From reputable stores such as Sunglass Hut owned by Luxottica but no one can definitively tell me why this is. Both models look and feel very genuine. I’m very detail-oriented. Why are there two different designs for one model (RB2132)? This does not seem right, at all. Please explain.
SportRx, My RB Way are marked "BL" on lenses, "B&L 5022" on shell frames. On the arms: "B&L Ray-Ban USA" and "WAYFARER" , there was not the Ray Ban logo on the arms of the glasses or the white Ray Ban logo on one lens like there are on current Ray Bans.Heavy frame also...they are genuine RB? Thank you,in advance!
If there’s anything saying Bausch & Lomb (B&L), that’s an automatic red flag. Bausch & Lomb sold Ray-Ban to Luxottica in 1999, so unless you’re buying a vintage pair, you should see Luxottica’s name. You can learn more about identifying fake vs real Ray-Bans here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4-e5HYk_Id0.html
Hello! The Wayfarer collection of frames have similar design aesthetics that qualify each as an authentic Wayfarer frame, such as the shape of the lenses and the temple accents. However, each unique Wayfarer model has subtle differences in lens size, weight, temple design, etc. For example, the RB2132 New Wayfarer is different from the RB2140 Original Wayfarer, though they both qualify as authentic Wayfarer designs. i'm a big head one , and i really love the Ease . unfortunately it didn't come in large size :( and looks like the arm is quite short when you try it ? is it comfortable why you try it ?
Hi Thanh! We totally understand wanting a larger size in the Wayfarer Ease. Unfortunately, it is only available in the 50 eyesize at this time. I will way say though that it has the same temple length (150mm) and lens measurements as the RB2140 Original Wayfarer 50 Eyesize- just minus the tilt. As you can see on Sunglass Rob, the frame is a touch small but still wearable!
Hi Gun! Have you tried the New Wayfarer in the 58 eye size? Here's a link to show how that frame looks on Sunglass Rob (who also needs a larger frame!): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DapGMKRyRW4.html.
Hi Gun! It definitely sounds like you did your research and chose the best option in terms of style and size! If you're open to other brands, feel free to give us a call at 888-831-5817 and an optician can recommend some other Wayfarer styles that may be a better fit!
I would not trust any source that states this is stands for an Asian Fit frame, as Asian Fit frames are indicated with the letter F. I would check to see if the place you got them from is a certified Ray-Ban dealer. www.ray-ban.com/usa/store-locator

i only own one sunglasses but i love it its personal to me its a ray-ban new wayfarer....my friend dared me he thought i was too broke to purchase real ray-bans so i did and iv loved it ever since
Trying to decide between the Oakley Holbrook XL and the New Wayfarer Large. Holbrook fits great and I like the coverage and bridge fit. Haven't tried the Ray-Ban in person, but worried about the bridge not being secure. Is that a common complaint w/ the Ray-Ban?

Hello! Yes, the RB4340 is the closest in comparison to the original in terms of design and shape that also weighs less. 👉www.sportrx.com/ray-ban-rb4340-wayfarer-ease.html
Hi Safdar! 54 is the largest size available in the RB2140 Original Wayfarer. This frame is pretty generous though and many with a larger head are able to wear this size. It's definitely worth trying!
Absolutely! You have 45 days from the date of receipt to exchange or receive a full refund. Here's a link to our full return policy: www.sportrx.com/return-policy

You're still welcome to return if they don't work out, it's just that we cannot provide the normal free return shipping. Sorry about that!
Hi there! Consider yourself lucky to pull off the style without any fit issues! It can just be tricky on those with higher cheekbones or flatter nose bridges where the angle makes it touch the cheeks. Glad to hear the tilt works for you though! It's definitely the signature of the Original Wayfarer.
I love the Tilt of RB2140. You hate it but I love it. Also like the RB4340. I have RB2140 and 2132 with me and specially love the RB2140. Haven’t brought RB4340 and thats next on my list.
Hey Nitesh! We love the iconic shape of the RB2140. The tilt is definitely up to personal preference but it's great that Ray-Ban offers the RB4340 for those who prefer to not have the tilt!
@@sportrxeyewear I prefer no tilt. It looks nice but the tilt was slightly uncomfortable. So I went with weyferer ease looks exactly like the original but no tilt
