Have you ever found fox tracks?

Some neighbors saved a trapped fox from being killed, and brought it to us so we could rehabilitate it. We did, and last July my son released it up in the Rocky Mountains near our house. Since our house is within the 50 mile radius they can travel - my son found some tracks near our house, and is going to set up the trail cam's... we got to know this "little Red" and if she finds her way to our stoop - we'll be able to recognize her... it's a special experience getting to know them - live with them, and let them go back to where they belong 🐱 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YD5IEMPo5_U.html

I saw a red fox in my backyard. He was sneaking up on some rabbits. A portion of my backyard is wooded, the fox was hunting these rabbits in open field portion of my property. I decided I wanted this fox to stay around so I have slowly been feeding this fox donated cracked chicken eggs. Apparently this has been working out just fine as the rabbits are disappearing and the eggs are gone by morning. Ive been placing the eggs by a creek next to the wooded area on my property. I am assuming this fox might be staying in the wooded area. I saw some tracks and yes, the fox is taking the eggs! I want this fox and maybe a den of them to remain on my property for as long as possible.

You do know they carry rabies My dog was bitten by a fox last night and now I have to keep him isolated even though he received a booster rabies shot and was up to date on his vaccinations. DONT FEED WILD ANIMALS

@@katherinehazleton5262 - I have been dealing with wild animals for years. Found out that I have a family of 5 foxes. Yes some do have rabies not all of them. When they attack, then you know they are not well. Majority of them are afraid of people and dont want to be bothered and just leaves. I feed not only them but raccoons too. I even had raised a baby raccoon after his mother was hit by a car. He lived in the hose with me and even loved to go rides. We play peek-a-boo too. That was so fun. I had him till he was 5 years old. In the wild they live on average of 3 years, in captivity they live on average 6 years.

@@nazfan01 hi, The increasing number of attacks by wild coyotes etc are, in part, linked to people feeding them. It reduces their fear of humans and they are more likely to come closer to human habitations. If your pet gets bitten by a wild fox one is unlikely to know if it has rabies or not. They will have to be quarantined for a minimum of 45 days if they are fully vaccinated and get a booster. I love wildlife and spend considerable time making my land hospitable to them.. However, I would Never feed them. If there is insufficient food for them to eat and you are providing them with food they will become reliant on you. Keep wild life wild, help them by growing suitable native vegetation and if one finds an orphaned animal give it to a wildlife centre that can raise that animal to be returned to the wild where it should be. Yes baby raccoons are adorable but they are not and should not be pets. Please do not encourage people to feed or raise wild animals.

@@katherinehazleton5262 - Never had a problem with raccoons. Very smart animal. I know people that have fox as pets, they are pretty much like a dog. I even knew a few folks that raised a wild deer that became a pet, now I can say that is a bit unusual. I have been around wild animals all my life. I understand and know what you saying about coyotes and wild animals in general and it is true. After seeing there is a family of 5 foxes in my backyard I left them alone. They are still there after all this time. I have 2 dogs and the foxes dont bother them, matter of fact they run and hide from them. It is the coyotes I worry about at night because I have a 6 pound Yorkie who has a bad habit of needing to go outside in the early morning hours between 2- 5
