Do what Gary does. It works. Is methods have help keep my gardens healthy all the way to the end of August where before I was always fighting fungus in July and it would devastate my plants before August even started. I just used Gary's voodoo magic recipe yesterday with tomato plants . And they're doing great.

The easiest way for me to correctly identify Late Blight is to remember that it affects every part of the plant (leaves, stems and fruit) and it looks like it's rotting and mouldy (you see some white fuzz and/or moistness on the lesions) - it's not dry. Also, Late Blight hates sunny weather (UV light actually kills its spores) - it likes cloudy, cool, moist weather. And, as you say, it spreads through all your plants very quickly.

Another thought to consider is to move over to disease-resistant hybrids, or if you really want to grow heirlooms, insert into your rotation a few hybrids and compare. A lot of people have the misconseption that hybrid tomatoes taste like supermarket tomatoes. Nothing could be further from the truth. A home-grown, vine-ripened Early Girl or Big Beef are absolutely delicious.
@THERUSTEDGARDEN
@THERUSTEDGARDEN Год назад
And that hybrids are GMO which they are not. Many heirlooms were hybrids in the 60's. 50-60 years later they can be considered stable heirlooms. Dear Gary! Thank you so much for your hard work and effort you put in making these extremely useful videos! Where I live it is not easy to buy hydrogen peroxide, so I ordered 2 litres online. It has turned out that it contains sodium bensoate, as well. Can I still use it for soil desinfection, and spraying plants? Thank you for your answer!
@lidip8700

Smh, 🤔 No one ses my garden, but I personally remove ALL leaves that aren't green & healthy. My theory is, the unhealthy leaf isn't going to recover and it's only draining energy & nutrients. So I remove it to also encourage new healthy growth. Mildew or fungus issues are never a big problem because I've removed it & treated the area as soon as I spotted it. I didn't use to do this, and I was always dealing with huge plant issues, some times I had to remove entire plants. I love your content, Gary. But I must have gotten something wrong from previous videos, because I thought peroxide/water spray was 1:3. So that's what I sprayed on them for aphids. Peppers died, aphids are still spreading. 🙄. Now that my tomatoes are planted & strung up, I'll try the maintenance ratio you mentioned. I bought 2- pkg of 1,500 Lady Bugs for the aphids because I keep losing the battle against them!! Lol (I also added worms to the garden beds & compost bins.)
@THERUSTEDGARDEN
@THERUSTEDGARDEN 2 месяца назад
3 parts water and 1 part h202 works for a lot of people. I cant recall my ratio but test spray is always good because sometimes the ratios work in 1 garden but not another. I also wash the aphids off with strong hose spray. That helps. Thanks for your support and please visit.. Almost all of my tomatoes are suffering from 'greenback' this year where a perfectly red ripe tomato has a hard green or yellow ring around the area where it's connected to the vine. I am growing John Baer, an heirloom tomato. I'm currently trying coffee grounds around the base and bought some potassium organic fertilizer. Any thoughts on that? I grow them vertically where I prune out the suckers and the leaves that touched the ground but nothing else.

So, i think i may have early blight. I sprayed a few weeks ago with copper fungicide and have been spraying with hydrogen peroxide every other day. How often should I reapply the copper, Or do i just keep spraying the peroxide? And then at what point do i put baking soda down?
@THERUSTEDGARDEN
@THERUSTEDGARDEN 2 месяца назад
You probably dont need all of them. If they have been treated and are under control, spray them with copper fungicide. If you see spots come back hit them with the h202. Or do the h202 every 10 days. It really varies too much based on rain, humidity, and other things. I've successfully used hydrogen peroxide spray for 2 years. Last week I mixed an 8 tablespoon per gallon batch and measured incorrectly. Instead of 8 tablespoons, I measured out 8 ounces. This is actually 16 tablespoons. It caused the lower leaves on 4 of my 24 tomato plants to turn pure yellow. The plants will survive but this was lesson learned.
