Hey guys in this video we take a look at Solomon's Seal and its identification features. Solomon's Seal is a very common plant in moist woodlands and it has dozens of varieties all over the world. This plant is incredibly easy to identify with it's egg shaped, alternating leaf pattern. The flowers are a yellow green color and are tube shaped or barrel shaped. The root of Solomon's Seal is edible and medicinal and is responsible for the plants name. When the root is dug out of the ground, you will notice circular seals on a bulbous like growth, each one of those seals indicates one year of growth. So if you count 15 seals, then that plant has been growing for 15 years. Because of its slow growing nature it's recommended that you admire this plants beauty instead of digging it for food or medicine.
