Followed along but i used Gltf instead as i got better results (the materials actually exported from the blend file). so fyi, you don't necessarily need to use an FBX file. thanks for the video, helped me greatly

After I imported the model and want to import some animations for it all from mixamo it somehow doesnt work I get always an error. I select the skeleton from the model but idk why it doesnt work... any ideas how to fixx that?

Awesome video, a big help, quick question. I did everything and it works but no matter how high I put up the speed, and how fast my character runs in preview, in game it's a standard crawl of a run for no reason. Any idea why that would be?

This is the correct, easy to follow tutorials. After I follow other videos but all failed due to incorrect or misleading instuctions. Thank you. But what about other actions like attacking? we need to add addtional fuctions to that AnimBP right?

i have a problem i used the survival tutorial video series for this with just the skeletal arms and come across an error. my guess is i need to change out the arms for a full skeleton in order for this to work.

Hello, what if we are using another animation set and therefore have a different weapon? Followed through the video and the weapon does not show up, even if it shows up in the blendshape and the blueprint

If you use ue4 still, you have to change the playerpawn in the gamemode class to thirdpersoncharacter

i followed all steps but in the end, my character animation replays itself and finishes too quickly for my camera. I was having problems with my character scale so i resized it to 0.1 Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

also i have another issue i cant seem to load in assets the way you do too. i got some assets from the store. when i try to load them in it tells me they is an error in upload i can only use them if i add them to the project before opening the file. which means im a dumb arse and dont know how to move said files from those asset folders into the ones i want them in so i know where they are. sorry im a complete noob to this and your videos are really helping but at the same time i feel very much scratch your head moments

My character just loops the whole locomotion blend over and over again. Like I start to run, then once he blends from idle to walk to run, he starts over, instead of continuing to run. Also now the camera cant keep up, feels like its lagging behind. Any help would be appreciated

doesnt work on a custom character, only this because skeleton is provided. But if you import your own, there is an import error. My rigged character was IK Retargeted. EDIT: Nevermind, the IK retargeter allows to export the animations to bound to new character , IK retargeter is just used to convert inconsistent skeleton to a new one, but animations need to update this too this way. Nice one and thx!

I have a problem, the character runs off and is then teleported back to starting posicion, maybe its because i downloaded the animation from Mixamo without trimming it? The character does not remaing in the center of the screen until he is teleported back..

In a later video in this series a commentor said this will not work in multiplayer. I don't understand why? Why would something created work in single player mode only? Can't you just make a single player game and turn it into a multiplayer later? I'm very new I really don't get it.

Local multiplayer; not really an issue. Online multiplayer; that is correct. You cannot make a single player game and play it as multiplayer by default. Can you try? Yea of course! There are something things that work and others that will not work. This is because when you program (c++ or blueprints) certain parts are done on the client and certain parts should only be done on the server. In short clients talk to a server to transmit information and the server sends information to all clients. In short, it’s a communication issue and who has privilege to receive updates. By default unreal has certain things like movement replicate, but something like health is not automatically updated on all clients UNLESS the server informs all the clients. The best practice is if you ever think you MAY convert a single player game to multiplayer at any stage. You should always start with designing it as a multiplayer game. You can play a game designed for online as single player, but the opposite isn’t always true
