Leila? Amazing lesson! Please do not give up to bring us wonderful excel lessons in finance and engineering. I am sure many many will love these subjects.

Ma'am firstly I would like to tell you that I am a huge fan of yours. Your videos really helped me in getting tremendous growth in my career. I just have 2 doubts from one of your videos. In my Excel 365 version I am unable to find Microsoft Exchange in Get Data Option Under Data Ribbon, nor does Get Data File PDF File is showing in my Excel 365 version. I have also updated it in case, but I am still unable to find both these options. Please help me to figure out these errors, and I'll be really helpful to you. Thank you so much. 🙏
Same here and I have the latest 365 insider version, but Microsoft Exchange option doesn't exist. I tried this on Power BI but I got a connection error. :-(
Wow! I didnt know about this until I watched this video. Your content is very insightful! Thank you so much! Avid subscriber here. God bless and more power to you!
You are correct. This is so frustrating. So many times when i am trying to follow something like this step two the button that is supposed to be there is not. Really puts me off Microsoft.
I was delighted to watch this video, to know this is possible. unfortunately I cant find the data import with a Business Standard User License. Has anyone tried the power automate mentioned by Laura B in the comment below? Is there a way around this?
The company I am working for they try to save money every time… a specialty on tools and employees :( but they still expect efficiency lol… I hope you guys working for better companies ;)
Thank you for this. I received an error when I tried this in PQ. "DataSource.Error: The requested failed. The remote server returned an error:(407) Proxy Authentication Required." How do I resolve this?
I love this functionality! Quick question ... can this functionality also pull in daily scheduled emails that contain spreadsheets? If this is possible I'd like to dynamically analyze the spreadsheets. Just looking to see what's possible. Keep up the great work!
Such a great video! I used this to create a call log - but found that recurring events only show once. Everything else works fantastic - thank you for this content! Would love a Pt 2 to this that walks through solving for recurring events. Appreciate all the content you create and thank you again!
Hi Leila, Thanks for another great way of using Excel. I am using office 365 with exchange - but I don't see the option to get data from exchange. Is it just an insider option? a specific build?
Hi Leila, great video as always!! Question for you- what would you do if your company automatically archives your emails after 90 days and you don't want to lose the data in excel once it comes in. Is there a way to backup the incoming data to a new worksheet? Thanks for your thoughts and keep up the great videos! Best, Jon
Leila, a great lesson. I tried importing emails from outlook, but however when i tried the query from other sources, i couldnt find microsoft exchange. How do i proceed if i cant see that option.
I am unable to find Microsoft Exchange in Other Sources Tab. Is there any particular reason that I can't choose/find Microsoft Exchange in the Get Data tab.
This would be an awesome time saver for me ! But How come my Microsoft Excel 365 doesn't have this feature when I click "Get Data - From Other sources"?? Anyone?
Great tutorial. Thanks. The emails I'm trying to bring in have tables in the body. How can I bring them in as tables? I can't seem to work out how to do that. Appreciate your input.
Can you do this with shared emails? To be more specific, I mean I would like to bring in calendar tasks from outlook in to excel from a shared calendar.
Gonna be a major life saver to organise my work to do! A dynamic and clear-cut list! On the other hand i still dont know the way to export the address book....
Apparently this feature isn't available for M365 Business Premium accounts. It requires an enterprise level account. Not sure why, but the "From Microsoft Exchange" option doesn't exist for me.
@@LeilaGharani I am trying to do this with our Office 365 family version and I am unable - is this only available in business or do you have a workaround if in excel: data - external sources - Outlook is not an option?
@@anirbanbhowmik8692 dang - i was scouring the internet like crazy last night.. in your organization - you might be able to use PowerAutomate and create a flow from outlook to excel. I've used it for my organization with forms and auto-populating into excel and it's super awesome (but only in business or school accts) :) Good luck!
Awesoem function :) can I import attachements from mail? I did something similar for the HR team to make it easier for them to sign up employees for internal training but unfortunately I couldn't download anything from Outlook. It was only with the help of PQ from a network drive that I made the records merge.
Hey Leila Thanks for this great video as usual. Really appreciate. However, I couldn't connect my email address when it comes to load tables (mail, people, tasks...). Any idea about this issue? Ps: I use Microsoft O365 Enterprise
Love the idea Leila, however I do not have access to Microsoft Exchange in the 'Get Data' list in Excel... any suggestions as to how to access this option?
🤯You just blew my mind. Excellent explanation👏🏾I never thought of Outlook as a source file to excel😊I can think of several cases to use this. Now I’m wondering if the excel table can capture responses to those emails to ensure all were addressed🤔
Hi Leila, Very nice video, Just a quick question, I have around 64K emails and while downloading it just timed out. Is there any way that the download starts from a specific date? Please let me know.
Great excel lesson Leila! What if I'm using office 365 for business and microsoft exchange is not availabe what are the alternatives? Do you have any videos related to this? Thank you.
I love this lesson. I was wondering how you would pull the data from a word doc that is copied into the body of the email. Example: The word doc has name, serial number, date, resolution, service detail as headers. The person would fill this form out and then cut and paste it into the body of an email and send. I see the data but it does not show up in its own column in excel.
Hello all, this lesson is amazing! One thing I can not find is that how to filter the emails what are flagged in to do list. Any idea is there some attribute what is named differently or maybe to do list is somewhere else (in tasks list they are not show up as well, unless I put reminders- but I do not need reminder, I just want this items flagged)
What about importing data from an Attachment sent as an Excel file? Or if the message Body has an Internet link to a downloadable CSV file? Thanks a lot!
I would like to see this too.... I receive excel files on a weekly basis via email. Would love to be able to automatically pull the data from those weekly excel files into a single file and do analysis/updates comparing the week over week data.
Leila, your content is always top shelf! Thank you for sharing your expertise with us. Is there a way we can link an excel file to an Outlook calendar to keep track of events? For example, let's say you have a Microsoft Form to keep track of when people are moving in or moving out. Can the form entry automatically link to Outlook calendar and create an appointment for the respective day?
Very interesting! I have something similar created with VBA in outlook but now my outlook is more or less broken so the VBA has to be manually run. This seems like a good alternative. Can it handle the attachments/pictures also? Meaning save them to a folder?
Details: "Exchange: We were unable to contact the Microsoft Exchange Autodiscover Service. Please make sure the Autodiscover Service is properly set up and your credential is valid." :(
Hello Leila, the day I discovered your channel, the way I worked with Office changed a lot and I learned a lot from your videos. However, I looked for a specific subject that I did not find related to exporting Tasks to Excel through Power Query. I was able to connect to the table but I couldn't get the custom columns with dates I had created in the Outlook Tasks and that contain very important information for my metrics. How can you get this information and how can we identify these custom columns? Thanks in advance and hug from Portugal 🇵🇹
Thank you so much for giving the detailed insights about power query. I wanted to know how can we extract just the phone number from email body. Intried split columns and other filters but numbers are getting scattered in multiple other columns. Kindly help if you know the workaround. Thank you
Hello Leila, thank you for all your videos, tips etc. It helps me a lot working with and understanding Outlook and Excel mostly. Question: about this video, I was not able to setup the mailconnection via microsoft exchange! Error message: in Dutch: Details: Exchange: Kan geen verbinding maken met Microsoft Exchange Autodiscover Service. Controleer of Autodiscover Service correct is ingesteld en of uw referenties geldig zijn
I love this functionality! Quick question ... can this functionality also pull in daily scheduled emails that contain spreadsheets? If this is possible I'd like to dynamically analyze the spreadsheets. Just looking to see what's possible. Keep up the great work!
What version of Office365 you got Leila? For instance I am having Microsoft 365 (16.0) but don't have those connectors for Exchange Server for Power Query...
And how to deal with the following error: "DataSource.Error: ErrorNonExistentMailbox: The SMTP address has no mailbox associated with it." Email really exist
Hello Leila, I'm regular watcher of all your Excel ways of working. I've a request. In the same context of this video, i would like to import emails from a Generic Mail Box (GMB). This will not have password. When i tried this, i got error Message "We Couldn't authenticate with the credentials provided", as i've provided only email id but not password. How can this be tackled? Any idea?
Hi Leila, I love your videos, they are very helpfull! I wonder, regarding the connection with all microsoft apps. The power query imports data. Is it also possible to export data to, for example, your callendar from the sheet if you change the data? Kind regards, Jeroen
