Presumably this relies on the latest airac in sim brief? I tried loading a flight plan recently and it gave errors in the fmc messages page. My airac is out of date currently.
@@tomrogers6510 As of right now yes... The CRJ shipped with its own navdata which is cycle 2103 which is the latest until Friday. Though having said that Aerosoft won’t be offering free updates to the Navdata so if you can get that cycle in Simbrief then you should be good to go (example if you signed up to Navigraph for 1 month downloaded and installed the latest cycles to MSFS, CRJ, simbrief, any other apps you use). This would also benefit you in other aircraft as MSFS keeps their navdata up to date too so using an outdated simbrief could still throw up errors in other planes.
This is such a super time saver and can help eliminate human error. I almost gave up learning the CRJ until I saw this. I have all of the options turned on in the Simbrief Downloader. I highly recommend doing this. The video is well put together and clear. Some guys zip thru stuff so fast I have to remind several times just to follow what's going on...not so with yours. Wow, thanks again.
Those were very detailed and clear instructions. I just recently purchased crj 550/700 and was curious to how to get that more or less automatically entered. Thanks.
When I enter the route at select the route button, it just says load error, even though everything else has been done correctly Edit: Just found out for people saying they're only got a Work_Default folder, they're looking in the wrong spot, it's not supposed to be where the mod is (community/official folders) it has to be the specific file path you provided, no matter where you installed the simulator
I would suggest double checking your folder which by the sounds you’ve already done. And make sure the file name is correct. Sometimes simbrief appends a number on the filename.
Thank you! I’m afraid I do not, just MSFS. However if Aerosoft have done anything similar I imagine the process isn’t too much different, just a case of finding the right folder to drop the file in from simbrief.
Hi, I followed the exact steps. When I try to place the origin and destination codes in the Route line (in the MCDU) I get a "LOAD ERROR" message. Can you help?
Great job. I tried to use it but. It do not work for me. I know the problem, but can not solve it. In my name is letter ø.And this is not good. Some strangs signs comes up, and naturally the path is not valid. Any good suggest. PS I do not change my name :)
I would recommend perhaps making a symbolic link (Google how to do) and placing it in a directory above your user folder. For example your drive root directory or another drive. Then direct simbrief to the symbolic link you made.
Double check the directories from the video, work_defaults is the wrong folder within the main package that sits in your community folder. You are looking for a folder that's found through your Windows appdata folders.
@@BobbyFuzzy Would i still have appdata folders considering my game is not in the default location? It's on my D drive. which is my separate from my C drive.
@@ncfirefighter1519 Yes you will do, easy way to find it is type Windows Key + R then type %appdata% and follow the paths given in the video depending on which version of the sim you have (Steam/MS Store).
If I remember correctly you click the small folder icon to the right of the Aerosoft CRJ entry in the downloader and then browse to the correct folder.
Atlanta to Miami with a divert of orlando Does this have Flight Level Change on the autopilot so it will automatically change altitude based on what’s programmed into the FMS. I had having to dial all that in and calculate decent rates for the SIDS/STAR. I just wanna nice auto descent, loc the ILS and land.
Correct! Was just a test route for the video. FLC is essentially the same as the SPEED mode on the CRJ AP. Doesn’t sound like you’re looking for FLC though? FLC is just setting a speed for a given climb/descent. Sounds like you’re essentially talking about VNAV? Which this aircraft has, but it’s only advisory. So you have to use a vertical mode and dial the decent in yourself like you have been doing. You can however follow the guidance on the MFD/MFD. There is an option for coupled VNAV in the EFB but I don’t know how well it works as I’ve not used it. Not many CRJ’s have it. This isn’t a very ‘hands off’ aircraft!
@@BobbyFuzzy thank you. I’ve been outta the sim game since xplane 10 released when my Mac took a crap. Since then I’ve been on console but recently built a beast rig. Now I can dust off all my saitek stuff like my radio, autopilot and switch panels. One thing I haven’t seen much in this sim though is the use of VNAV in fact it’s been so long I forget the name of it till you mentioned it. I’m not sure why they op out of including it in the planes in this iteration of the sim but I guess I’ll adjust.
@@masterman3178 It will come in time but yeah it’s a bit scarce at the moment. The Working Title CJ4 has a fully working VNAV however and its excellent!
so I follow this guide to the T, and after I load the flight plan in the FMS the first page looks great, it has my departing runway, my destination, everything looks great. then I go to the next page and there are tons of discontinuities, there are waypoints missing and there isnt even my destination airport listed in the legs. every single flight plan I import does this. does anyone know why your help would be greatly appreciated. I cannot figure this out for the life of me.
@@BobbyFuzzy this is all so confusing, I cant even figure out how to find out what version of airac cycles the my CRJ has? do you know of a video explaining how to sync my sim brief airac with my aircrafts? I cant really find any help on this topic. do I have to have a navigraph sub for this to work?
@@Sirmellowman In the CRJ check the first page (STATUS) that appears on the CDU. Under 'Active Database' 2 dates should show, that's your current cycle. You can look up which cycle those dates relate to on Google. Another way to check without opening the sim for the CRJ is to go into where the CRJ is installed (usually your community folder) and open the Data > NavData folder. Open the cycle_info.txt All other aircraft in the sim currently use the sim's base navdata which is updated by Asobo (if you don't have navigraph). The current AIRAC provided is 2113 and that is up to date. If you want to update your simbrief AIRAC cycle you will need to have a navigraph subscription. It's a blessing that Asobo are giving us the latest AIRAC for free but also a curse in that simbrief does not 😂
I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I thought the destination folder should be 'work' in any case. You can always try and see if it works. If not, check your path.
@@12thFan23 That shouldn't happen. Have you been through the tutorial in the documentation/my series on YT? Had another viewer with a similar issue when importing from simbrief. Make sure you have the flight plan as the active flight plan (not secondary) and EXEC has been pressed, make sure NAV mode is on and NAV SOURCE is FMS1.
Can anyone help I have downloaded the downloader and opened it to find the is no Aircraft list also no path to Microsoft Flight Simulator any help would be appreciated.
Sounds strange! There’s nothing listed there at all? Sometimes you have to put the paths in yourself. Maybe try an uninstall, redownlod and install again if there’s nothing there.
@@BobbyFuzzy I have the same problem in that I've downloaded SimBrief Downloader and I get basically a blank page with no list of Aircraft Profiles. I can, however, get the simulator path by going to 'Change Settings' and 'Simulator Paths.' The 'Simulator Paths' section does not provide Aircraft Profiles. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the downloader and the problem still persists. In the circumstances, I'm wondering whether I can generate my CRJ flight from the main SimBrief menu and amend the path there to the CRJ flight and amend it back again to MSFS for other aircraft.
I think that I've managed to figure out why I haven't been getting the Aircraft Profiles in the SimBrief Downloader! You need to generate the Flight Plan in SimBrief first before it can populate the Aircraft Profiles in the Downloader. I had been wrongly trying to do the CRJ Aircraft Profile first so that it was then ready for the Flight Plan. I hope that this helps anyone encountering the same problem as me!
Hey mate. check through the video again and make sure you followed all the steps correctly and that you are dropping the file from simrbrief in the correct folder.
I'm getting the error load too I verified my file directory is correct. Now wondering if there was something in my actual sim brief plan that it doesn't like
@@Brian_R82 That could be possible. If your simbrief account is on an outdated AIRAC cycle it may contain fixes that don’t exist in the CRJ’s Nav data. You can check if your flight plan is being picked up by the aircraft in the first instance by going INDEX > Route Menu > Pilot Route. If it shows there yet won’t load then you’ve done everything right and it must be down to something in the plan. IE. The airac cycle. @Dani Dan this may help you also.
as soon as i input the rout ie start point and end point KATLKMIA and input it into the nav computer when i push it into the route it locks up my game.....this is after the 5 update
