I started onions 2 weeks ago as well. I'm going to put my emergency blanket around my shelf to try it out. Thanks. Starting barasiccas, calendula, rhubarb seeds and peppers.

I bought six mylar blankets before the Arctic blast to make an emergency tent in my camper if the power failed due to ice. I have a tiny 200w heater and electric blanket and about 6 kwh of solar batteries total that can power these. But no solar charging below freezing unless batteries are heated. I`m gonna put 36w lights on a tomato and cucumber plant under the edge of my camper roof. I grow tomatoes and cucumbers in hydro buckets because it`s much easier than soil and disease free. My emergency blankets will be put to good use. I didn`t think of trying this but I do need to give my plants far more light than a normal day provides to triple growth.

I start my seeds in the basement as well, which runs about 63 degrees most of the time. So adding the mini greenhouses, lights and mylar helped me quite a bit.

@@oneseedoneworld That’s about the temperature of our basement. Last year I tried covering the shelf unit that had all the flats and lights with a light, white cloth. This didn’t work as the air flow was blocked and a fungus started growing. So I had to take it all down. Luckily I was able to save the little plants but it was a hectic start. I ordered the Mylar blankets yesterday and look forward to trying them. I’ll let you know how it goes. Also, I did order some flower seeds from Baker’s Creek- this will be fun❣️

@@BlackOnyxCat Awesome! I look forward to hearing how it goes for you. As for the fungus, I know that can be a challenge as well with keeping enough airflow. I haven't had fungus issues, but often run into algae on the soil when growing in the mini greenhouses. Normally once the plants get going I open up the plastic doors and sometimes even use a fan down there to help with that, but then you lose some of the heat and light. Its always a balancing act until its warm enough to move them outside!

I got Watercress seeds in a variety pack and have them growing in Folgers Instant containers in hydro solution using 3 inch net cups filled with clay pebbles and 10w LED grow lights.

@@oneseedoneworld I like it but never saw it in our stores. It`s a great source of nutrients/vitamins and even glycine, an anti aging thing we need more of. Grows so fast.

$100 grow tent will be better. Just set up no balancer mylar blankets plus 90% reflection. Small fan to circulate air.

I like the mini greenhouses, plus I've been using them for years. So its easier just to use what I have and add some mylar 🙂

I've been using foil taped to my seedling shelves to combat this so I appreciate seeing/learning about this alternative product. Also: Love Prince! 😂 💜
