The bayards can't be weightless, I remember when Hunk first got his bayard he was shocked by the weight of it, causing him to slam it on the ground. Anyways nice video!

I still think that due to the original style of Keith's sword, it's made for swinging, not thrusting. Keith's fighting style is Galra, so it's not really the same to normal sword fighting. The sword was made for Keith specifically, so he knows how to use it best, but your improvements are pretty cool.

I like the design! The strap part that goes around your wrist could attach to his Paladin wrist armour on his Paladin armour. Like, it could appear when he summons his sword. Cool!

I don't know too much about voltron other than that my sister watches it. But your original video got recommended to me and you earned yourself a new sub! my sister also thoroughly enjoyed both this video and the original. She thought you brought up some good points, and keith's sword had always bothered her.

Also it's so funny how you just casually throw in clips of you making an actual masterpiece haha! If you ever do Voltron sword commissions I'd probably buy one! When I rewatch episodes now I am always just stuck looking at Keith's sword lmao

In some cases the weight of a "Light"-Based weapon like a Lightsaber is mimicked by focusing a lot of weight in the handle and using a light, but durable, material for the blade. Like a heavy steel pommel and a thick walled piece of Polycarb tube as the blade.

The sword could have built in inertia dampeners, and gyroscopic stabilization. Or just maybe, Keith is quick enough to rotate the sword at the right angle at the right time, or all of the above. Or just coming out left field, there could be a field of energy that surrounds Keith’s wrist, that works just like that velcro attachment.

I feel that even with the gauntlet, it would be very easy to damage your wrist if any decent blow was met by the sword

Isn't the thing you added too short? It should connect with the forearm or you'd be risking twisting your wrist instead of the original swinging problem, I think, which is worse. Since it's a sword and not a smaller dagger, the forces applied near the tip will be amplified by distance and since you can't drop the sword, if one hit gives, because of where your arm is joined to the weapon, you'll get injured. (I think!) But it's still really cool that you made it and it looks like a good idea overall! I hadn't noticed that flaw in the design. But yeah, flying magical lions, man haha

They have something like that though. It doesn't wrap around the wrist but the bayard is one either side of the forearm. All they did was add a blade with a cool design to the top.

I'm surprised no one commented this on here, considering how people have had different opinions on it, but if the Bayard is supposed to be an extension of each Paladin that wields it, then it could possibly keep the blade positioned by it being connected to him with his quintessence

Maybe the shape of the hilt helps Keith to better hold his sword. The way how you built your hilt is a complete rectangle which would give the user a poor grip, thus making the sword easier to rotate in the user's hand when the enemy deflects the thrust. Other factors to consider--mainly for the benefit of a doubt, is what sort of surface the hilt has, metal for sure, but does it have a particular design to give it some frictions for a better hold? Plus Kieth is always wearing gloves when fighting with his sword. Maybe the gloves helps to give it some friction for a better grip. I like your video by the way, can't wait to see more!

Thanks. Ironically I left the handle with edges to give a BETTER grip. A smooth round handle would rotate in the hand way easier. Also thanks.

Oh lol, I wasn't thinking of a round handle. I thought that if the handle was shaped to have some curves then the grip would be better. The handle of the bayards looks to be slightly curved, with two wide grooves to match the placement of the fingers? It's hard to tell what the actual design looks like, even when zooming in. But I do agree with your solution in the end when all else fails. :)

The Bayards all have an extended part that goes to the lowest part of wrist giving it more control to it's wielder, the way the Bayard was made in this video was make only capable to the fist, the Bayard usually comes from a bit more out from the fist, and down to (because I'm tiny) around the end of my wrist and a little bit more of the beginning of my forearm, sorry for this you don't have to make the mod if you really don't want to

Like literally would just be a handle? How would you know when you have hit something? Could there be opposing force on something that has no force cause of no weight? It would be like if you shot a flamethrower and were moving the flame from side to side, you wouldn't feel when it hit stuff.

I can see why the show made his sword with the handle facing the way it is because of the shape of the bayard, but they could have also made it not be,,, facing the way it is and so the handle would look more like a rapier's handle. Maybe not I dunno. However I noticed that when the black bayard is in Zarkon's hands, he can form a sword that has a regular handle so it would've been possible. I don't know many sword terms so I'm hoping this makes sense. I guess Keith has some super strong galra grip or something haha. I like the addition! It looks cool B-) does the belt hurt your wrist if you hit something fairly hard with it?

Here's a thought: The bracers can generate shields that can be detached. Could they also interact with the bayard to reinforce his grip? And I think your grip is too small and round. I'm watching this at my library , and playing with a book I just checked out. If I hold the book so it lays back against my forearm, I can actually bend a 292-page hardcover without breaking my grip or bending my wrist.

Hey, I just got an idea for your Homeless Batman! Maybe you should turn it into more a Wastelander Batman? Similar to what you have now, you wouldn't change anything. But it would be on a Batman similar to the Nightmare scene, but a Batman who ALWAYS post apocalyptic. Again, you wouldn't really change anything on your suit, but I think it would be a cool idea.

But...doesn't the first fight withe gladiator have really awkward movements? Usually this kind of sword is used along with a full length sword. It's meant for sharp thrusts. Don't get me wrong, I adore Keith, but honestly that sword is awkward to handle and none of the other swords, including the bom sword are designed like that. I was super confused when I saw his bayard because the first thing I could think of was, 'that poor shoulder.' 😂
