Smart to always respect your limits. Because every normaltrash around you will disrespect your limits in every despicable way they can think of. Especially if you were cursed by having been born with a psychological or mental disability.
@@scotmandel6699t makes total sense. There are WAY more good people than bad people in life. Dude should have helped her more is the only thing. She could have made it with some encouragement.
Thank you for being such a great role model and showing that respecting your limits and making it back to saftey before the weather changes/night falls is so much more important than any summit!
The amount of emergency rescues I’ve seen and helped with on steep scree exactly like that has given me enough respect to stay far away. Stay safe, and always tell someone your plans.
You Rock Madison! You are one of the few that is serving as an inspiration to me as a recover from a terrible accident to hopefully next summer get back out there. Thank You. 🤗
a stranger from the internet... NOT... Foresty is so well known and especially respected for his hiking and summiting abilities... and Rocko of course is the best side kick ever... think he's got over 50 summits already... what a little cute beast he is
This is why I love hiking with my terrier 😂 She is small and compact for easy transport and doesn't need pounds of food, but has no problem keeping up.
I hate loose rocks like this on inclines with no clear path! Had something similar (but probably not quite as steep) on the last 1.5 km to the Zugspitze in Germany. I hated it and thought I would slide back down the mountain. Made it up in the end, but would not have made it if it was any steeper or longer and if I wasn't surrounded by other hikers that day (I'm also a solo hiker but this mountain is tourist trap). I must have been the slowest beetle on the entire damn mountain, crawling up the mountainside on all fours. Going back down by foot was not an option with my heavy pack on my back unless I wanted to break my neck, so the only way was up. And this mountain looks way scarier! Mad respect to you for getting this far and knowing your limits.
Hope you find a permanent reliable hiking buddy. They're was a Lieutenant that went off alone in the Rockies, it was the last thing he did. Stay safe. I reccomend Bad Reichenhall, Germany. -Combat Vet
Wow. We lost a girl last summer attempting to climb the 7 peaks in the Beartooth Mountains. She started climbing scree/boulder field and her weight cause a rock slide and crushed/buried her. Maybe think twice about climbing those loose rock fields. Stay safe and stay alive!
FF is definitely someone to show you the ropes. His hiking stamina is insane. Happy to see you knew your limits and turned around. Smart move. Take care
Well done for recognizing your limits and making the sensible call! Too many people can't bring themselves to turn back when the summit is so close and end up putting themselves (and rescuers) in danger. Its hard to turn back when you've come so far, especially in front of others, but this is by far the more impressive and courageous choice.
Very happy to see a person so in tune with their ability and know when not to push or give in to summit fever. I didn't know angels can climb mountains! so pretty! Keep up the great videos!
Great job knowing your limits, even more impressive is the determination to improve yourself then come back and finish the job! Be very proud of yourself, this random internet stranger is proud of you too!
My first attempt at a summit ended in failure due to my lack of stamina and poor weather. I as you did made the correct decision to turn back. Better to turn back and try another day. Keep training and try to be as prepared as possible and you will find it gets easier the more you do it.
Well there’s your mistake! You were following Foresty Forest! You should have been following Rocko! Honestly the man’s a beast, glad you met him because I like both your content 😊

I watched this video soon after waking up. The view you showed down the mountain was the exact image I had in a nightmare not 15 minutes earlier. Freaked me out a bit.
t is wonderful to watch your videos. God, I'm dying to go there to be in such an environment. Don't forget that you are an incredible person and good luck next time you try
You already knew the most important thing: prioritizing safety. Here in Switzerland we read about every week that someone has fallen to their death in the mountains
Look below often and make sure you are OK reversing that climb. If you push your limits a bit every time you will be amazed how the same spots that made you turn around previously (chicken) are no longer noticeable. Fear is a good thing: you go build some more muscles and stamina and try again. Remember: you have nothing to prove. The name of the game is progress...every year you will come back to the same mountain and feel like a faster and more powerful hiker, I like to do these specific comparisons. I try to run at 6 to 8 kfeet and that seems to help... with the "dead hangs" and the pull ups. I always try and estimate the energy left and aim to still be near 50% of my reserves when back down to camp ( ie able to do it all again when back down). But I know I often "push it". I am not interested in hiking under the rain if I can avoid it. I have no issue turning around if any doubt...carry extra layers). Starting in a T shirt and ending in 2 more layers plus a puffy and a rain poncho... rain all the way down from 11 to 8.500 feet was yesterday in the Northern Rockies😂. Today: typing this in my van under heavy rain and hail. Always testing your shoes VERY carefully: I have zero tolerance for misteps or slipping...in my mind they are a sign of lack of attention or being tired. Hiking is a "brain game". You should evaluate precisely where you place your feet and with how much kinetic energy with near 100% accuracy. Try and leave nothing to chance. I am in my 70s and I think there is no better exercize to fight aging😂
