I had an identical interaction with an 8 year old girl who had 'ADHD', what i now describe as Explosive HyperFocus. She was unable to keep her hand flopped for more than 2-3 seconds, when i gently put my fingers round her wrist (like barely touching) to help her with a tactile reminder, she described the sensation of keeping her hand relaxed as 'painful'. Great video - but its not just 'Adult hands' that are stubborn. Some Neurotypes will find this very hard, and developing the skill of motor regulation and relaxation is super valuable to them.
