Love it Coach! What would your "Hurry" cadence sound like? Thanks!

Appreciate it! I just do a very simple "Hurry Hurry...... Go!" Has to has a certain rhythm to it so your OL can anticipate the snap. Also heard other coaches use "Alpha, GO!" as well. Much less delay on that though.. Usually when the clock is running down. In college we did "mayday, mayday, GO". None are more right than the other. Just different things you can use.

Great video. How much of this would you look to install at a middle of the road 4A high school program? Would 5+ types of motions, not including different shifts, be too complicated for a HS team? Thanks in advance.

Hey coach, my approach would really be the same no matter what level...it's just about seeing what your players can do well and building on top of that. Starting small and then adding additional things ONLY if you plan on using them often in your offense. Everything has to be practiced and you only have so much time in a week. Don't wanna get stuck practicing things you don't use (speaking from experience here). But to give a more specific recommendation, I think the push motions (both versions) are really easy to implement. Nothing complicated with the play call (ex. Spread RT Push Stick). That can be used with a handful of concepts and gets the RB involved in the pass game quickly. If you're a big jet motion team, use that. If you're not calling it a handful of times a game then don't install it. And last thing I really like is the across motions. I did that a lot with my Y in 11 personnel (had the Y in a wing strong or weak). Those 3 (Push, Jet, Across) are good enough to be complex and limits terminology for players so you don't throw a ton at them. When you combine that with shifts, concept tags, switching responsibilities, and different concepts, you can have a really well built out offense that will have solutions to whatever problems you see. Hit me up if there's any follow up questions.

All these years i thought fly was under center with a quarterback opening to the motion and jet was out of the gun? I guess i was wrong?
@americanfootballacademy1741
@americanfootballacademy1741 8 месяцев назад
There isn't really a 'universal terminology' for this so you can kinda just make up your own verbiage or go with what you're most familiar with (which is what I do). There are some things that almost every coach recognizes (usually concepts like smash or drive) but when it comes to motions, it's not so clear cut.

hello coach. I follow you from Turkey. You help me understand offense. In Turkey, generally 1 or 2 formations are used. because players start playing sports in university. I want to create a playbook using spread, trey, Bunch splitback and Pro formations. how can I do that?

Coach, send me an email. That's the easiest way for me to help here. By the way I played/coached a ton in Europe (Germany, Finland, Spain, Russia) so I'm actually quite familiar with the leagues over there, including in Turkey 🤓 My email is justin@american-football-academy.com

Anything for 3-3 stack?
@americanfootballacademy1741
@americanfootballacademy1741 6 месяцев назад
Could you elaborate on what you mean? I think in general the same benefits that motions give you apply to any defense, including a 3-3-5. You can quickly change the strength, overload a side, add numbers to the box, change leverage. If I had to pick something I think in particular I'd use... I'd see how they adjust when adding numbers to the box with a quick motion and build a package off that. Could be an interesting way to run split zone or power and have everyone picked up from a spread look. Hopefully that helps a bit, but let me know if I was on the right track with this
