Hello Christy! So thankful for you sharing your wisdom in your videos! I've read a reasearch about how Malassezia is able to metabolize lipids/oils with a carbon chain length between 12-24. In contrast they can't feed on these medium-chain fatty acids (MCTs) that have 6-10 carbon atoms: C6: caproic acid or hexanoic acid; C8: caprylic acid or octanoic acid; C10: capric acid or decanoic acid. I've tested and this is the only oil that doesn't trigger my skin, so I'm using as a moisturizer. If possible, could you share what do you know about it and if there are other similar alternative oils that don't trigger conditions like sebderm? Even simple ingredients like glycerin can trigger my skin 🙃, and there's research about it that it can feed Malassezia in some cases too. Thanks again and cheers! 🙂

Have you had your skin scraped to get tested to see if you actually have this fungal infection or any other fungal strains for that matter? Many factors can alter the skins natural microbiome. Studies also show that your skins natural microbiome is linked to your gut microbiome. The healthier your gut microbiome is, the more your skin can tolerate different types of oils without triggering outbreak. The more reactive skin is, this is an indication that the skins lipid barrier is compromised.
