My Laptop , the Lenovo Idea pad, has the same exact Specs, except it was running on 1.65 gb of virtual memory. After making your changes , I now have 12gb of virtual memory , with 8 gb of ram. Without you man, I would have been missing out on performance so thankyou!

This is a mistake because SSD is much much slower than RAM. So if you use more than 20GB of ram it will save to the SSD and then return to Ram. Then you can have a slower system. Virtual ram is only good if you have 4 or 8GB RAM and so apps crash. Windows gave you 7 GB, so it's counting on you to do multiple things at once. If you're just playing games, there are really few times when games want more than 10 GB. So you've still got 10GB for the browser etc. For example, I just play games so I put a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 16MB. Everything is fine and windows is faster. Additionally, it can also slow down the processor while pulling from the SSD.
Thank you for this write up. I was honestly going to do an overkill on the VRAM of my 8gb ram laptop. But after seeing this very well written comment, I now know that I shouldn't overkill on the vram
@@XMoldyMeI just did 8gb of minimum VRAM and 12gb of maximum VRAM. I didn't want to overkill my PC. Now I just checked and I have 8gb of VRAM in my PC and it tallies with my main ram (8gb) and I think I made the right decision

@@NexAnimeOPHow virtual memory works is the processes your ram runs are temporarily sent to your HDD or SDD or SDD. It makes your ram lightweight and also doesn't really affect your drive .
I followed your instructions but it didn't change anything. I have 8GB RAM and default virtual memory was 656MB and after applying settings told by you its still 656MB , it didn't increase.
I had 2176 MB and got up to 9216 MB as i have 6GB ram in my laptop ( i had 4GB but i removed some parts on my old laptop and found a 2GB ram and i applied it to my 4GB ram laptop and got 6GB and now i have 9GB of Virtual RAM from 2GB of ram . thank you

It did make a noticeable improvement, I have a 2TB SSD so plenty of room to spare. (3GB for the video card as virtual video RAM so it reads as 4GB's with the dedicated 1GB video card...) and now tweaking the Virtual RAM, it responds noticeably quicker, more fluid like, instead of that 1 sec. delayed movement. Seemed a bit out of sync, but now it's all in phase. And 32GB.s of RAM also helps.

my laptop is 10yrs old,running windows 10 Pro 64bit,system configuration is 4GB RAM,500HDD only.. Then,i have set page file as 1024×4×1.5=6144(minimum) and 1024×4×3=12288(maximum). Is my calculation correct or not??

I have one question, my games are lagging after a update ( it was a small one that comes after u shut down/open the pc) so is there any way I can get back my previous non laggy pc?
So this doesnt work with 32gb of ram? and if it does work, is the initial size supposed to be 49152 and the maximum size 98304? Also do I do this with all my Drives?
32 GB you can get away with 16384 min 32768 max. Unless you fill your RAM to the brim and / or play Cities:Skylines with a ton of assets, no need to bother with pagefile setup
