In the S6 lite, there was a small black plastic piece in the SD/sim slot compartment. It was in the shape of a micro sim card and it had to be removed before inserting your sim. Why do they put things like that in?.. I was looking for ages until I found this weird 'sticker' that was blocking the sim placement. I haven't got any further as the tablet is working and I'm not using data, but its a start for anyone else out there who needs to know how to install a sim.

Thanks for letting us know! Honestly I wouldn't know exactly because ive never heard the precise answer, but im assuming it's to prevent the dust from getting in there because believ it or not dust can affect those areas.

In the only wifi version you cannot put the Sim in only the Sd card,it needs to be the 4G LTE version for SIM to work

Hi there. um i just found out recently how to remove that black thing. u need to remove that black sticker from the micro compartment side. if u look closely there's a tiny symbol where u need to insert the pin into it and push to remove that black sticker. then u can insert ur sim card.

Thanks for the vid. On the LTE version of the TAB S6, you insert the SD card inside its holder as shown in the vid. The nano SIM card goes on the back side of the same holder. So you get both cards onto the same small holder, one on each side.

Thank you for sharing the info with us, unfortunately mine was WI-FI version only and sometimes its hard to find the exact info on the you dont have so I could only assume it was installed on the back side of the sd card slot and thats whay I wanted to show the audience 2 possible versions where the sim card might be installed. Can S6 make call and text independently by itself after inserting sim cards?Or the sim card slot is just for Data use so I need to set up or connect my smart phone to that tablet then I'll make my call and text?

The sim card on the LTE Tab S6 is for data use only, in order to make or receive calls you will need to use some sort of third party app. Hope this helps.

I'm not really sure if I understood your question correctly, but from what I got is that you want only internet to work on the tablet. In this case, that is the only way it will work on the tablet. It will not work like a phone, you won't have to have an extra plan like you would for the phone. The only reason there is sim card slot on the tablet is that so you can have internet wherever you go with that tablet and not rely on wifi only. Hope this answers your question.

Are you sure you have the LTE model ? Because that SIM card spot shouldn’t be filled with plastic if it is LTE.

Try any other OTG you can find around to either transfer some files from your tablet to pc or just see if it charges if both things work then that certain otg could simply just not be compatible with your Tab S6. Hope this helps!

No, incorrect. There is 2 different versions of the tablet. One that is wifi only which wouldn't have sim card compartment only the SD card compartment. The other version that is LTE that has 2 compartments in the same sd card/sim card slot where you put both SD and sim card at the same time. Hope this helps.

1. Go to device “Settings”, then select “Storage”. 2. Select your "SD Card", then tap the “three-dot menu“ (top-right), now select “Settings” from in there. 3. Now select “Format as internal”, and then “Erase & Format”. 4. Your SD Card will now be formatted as internal storage. 5. Reboot your tablet. Please be sure you start with a blank SD card. It needs to be blank because when the card is converted to "Internal" storage, it will be formatted (wiped) and encoded (making the cards data only readable by that device). Also please keep in mind that not all the apps can be stored on the sd card because developer can make them be installed on device memory only. Hope this helps and please keep in mind that I am no device technician and therefore please proceed with caution and at your own risk while following the above steps, i will not be liable if anything goes wrong.

You can, but it doesn't have to be. You do however need to format a new SD card when you first insert it in to the tablet to make sure it works properly, however please make sure that if you already have something on that SD card back the data up before formatting the card in your new tablet.

Its very simple because of the cost of the parts lte parts probably have higher cost if not more components that go into that tablet, but the biggest reason for the difference in price in my opinion is convenience because with LTE you can constantly stay connected to the network where with WIfi you either have to look for hotspots and free wifi or have to buy separate internet transmitter.

Yes you may, but please remember that there is 2 versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab s6 WI-FI and LTE. In order to check that you have a correct version you need to go into Settings then About Tablet and look for version model number. In US LTE model numbers depends on the carrier, im not sure which one you might have bought, but if you follow this link www.samsung.com/us/mobile/tablets/galaxy-tab-s/?flagship_series_name=Galaxy+Tab+S&model_family=Galaxy+Tab+S6 you can click on each one of them and see the model number. Once you are sure you have the correct version the sim card would be inserted in the same compartment where sd card is too. Hope this helps!

You need to push pretty firm on it with a sim eject tool so if you're pushing softly on it that's why it might feel like it's stuck. Do not wiggle the pin don't bend it, just push it straight down. So you don't break the pin. Hope this helps.

Dont forget that there are 2 different versions of the tablet, one is WI-FI only therefore the sim compartmnet is strictly use for an additional memory therefore it would be for SD card and in the LTE version this compartment is used for both SD and SIM card.
