IF you have good hand/arm articulation, you can just remove the air box and change both charge pipes from above. Also, if you break off one side of the clips for the vacuum port by the throttle body, you may be able to use a screw clamp to hold that sucker on. Unlike a LOT of the other available N20/26 charge pipe upgrade kits, the fact that the Kies kit doesn’t reuse the stock o-rings is a big plus. I’ve put my non-Kies boost tubes aside until I can find appropriate o-rings as even the factory ones leave too much wobble than I’d like, especially at the throttle body! Great video as always!
I just went stage 1 and after I heard about the charge pipe and boost pipes exploding I IMMEDIATELY ordered both.. taking it easy until new pipes get here
I will be installing the KIES charge/boost pipe combo this weekend along with the VRSF intercooler and the INJEN cold air intake (all purchased from KIES Motorsports)...I'll update Monday
Nice video. A technical question: how do you justify metal over rubber? We know rubber will not let heat come out of it and reduces heat radiation while metal would increase the temperature in the engine compartment. I’m sure BMW engineers thought about that and still chose rubber pipe over metal pipe. May be rubber pipe is recommended to be replaced more often to prevent sudden malfunction due to age.
silly question since the intercooler is being upgraded as well (in most cases), aluminum barely holds any excess heat compared...look at the engine bay bmw loves to save money on plastic, next look at the interior a lot of money saving shit bmw does like spray on compound on the door handles that will leave your hands stick in a few yrs of ownership
So i finally decided to upgrade and the combo kit is sold out on kies motorsports. I did some browsing and see a n20 charge and boost pipe combo for 528i. Will this work on my 328i f30? for those car experts out there
Hey Kies, I had a shop install the boost and charge pipe on my N20 engine, but I’m experiencing a strained cold start and not getting the usual power at high revs.
How can I contact you about my 2009 335i with a stage 2+ tune twin turbo. I just purchased the vehicle and now I’m having issues. I’m reaching out to you because you have the most knowledge in the BMW platform. Please contact me back about contact information
Not “can break”, eventually WILL break. Mine broke on stock tune at 60k miles. Only good thing is it started my road to modding my 435i Gran Coupe. Hell. It’s how I found this channel. Makes me want to spend all my money.
how do you guys not have more subscribers? Seems like every RU-vidr who owns a BMW is giving you guys props and getting products from you guys. We need to get your subscribers higher.
