Thank you Garden Bee! Trim kits can be difficult to find. The first step would be to find out online if you could buy a separate trim kit for your specific microwave. Probably 80% of microwaves they do not come with trim kits made for it. Cheers and good luck!
Thanks for posting this informative video. My old microwave had a metal duct which directs air flow and moisture from the back, over the top/front of the microwave. If I buy a replacement microwave this metal duct will not be available. Did you have any issues with moisture build up inside the wooden cabinet?
Hi Nick, not to worry. With all new microwaves and with proper airflow from big enough ventilation (proper cutout of cabinet opening) there should not be moisture build up. The microwaves nowadays do not have metal duct unless it's over a cooktop 🍻
Thank you very much 😊 99% you will have to buy the microwave as a bundle with the trim kit. It's how the manufacture and sellers makes the most money. It's rare to find them for sale separately. To find if your model has a kit. I would Google the make and model number and add "trim kit" with your search 🍻
Hi. Like your idea. I have a regular counter top panasonic microwave. I want to build a tall cabinet and mount my panasonic microwave in it. Where can I buy a trim cover please? Which type of store sells microwave trim? Thanks
Thanks Vinh. Microwave trim kits can be found on places like Amazon, Home Depot, etc. But trim kits are made specifically for certain model of microwave. So that means they come in different sizes for different brands. You'll have the right size that will fit your microwave. You don't want one too big or too small. It has to be perfect! Cheers 🍻
Your video is just for me. I have a exactly same one but wood support, unfortunately the microwave out of work, I plan to buy a new one, where can I find it with exactly same size?thank you!
I bought this microwave used. It only came with trim kit. The base support boards, I used them to support the microwave. For a brand new microwave it will come with support mounts.
Hi!! Great video, thanks! I have a regular countertop microwave. If I buy the trim kit and everything fits, is it okay to use it? Or do I need to purchase a microwave that is specifically a built-in kind?
Hi Russia! Thank you!! Yes absolutely, you can! But there is very limited countertop microwave that offers that option. I wasn't able to find any but one brand GE and that microwave was too small so I didn't go that route. 🍻
@@nitinkanojia8682 I can't seem to find the one I saw a few years ago but this GE is similar. Cost a little more. www.geappliances.com/appliance/Microwave-Optional-30-Built-In-Trim-Kit-JX9153SJSS Here's an LG one www.lg.com/us/cooking-appliances/lg-LRM2060-countertop-microwave
Hi Byron, my trim kit came together with the microwave. It's hard to find trim kits separately. Since majority countertop microwave is designed with no trim kit. Home Depot has some. Probably easier just to Google the make and model and add "trim kit" at the end of your search to see if it's available.
Hello there, that isn't as hard as it seems. You will need to measure the opening and depth. L x W x D and the measurements of each microwave to make sure it will fit. If it doesn't fit you can make adjustments to current cabinetry. For an example to cut the sides bigger if possible to fit a bigger microwave. 🍻
