In this video I show you the correct way to install a Dremel accessory also known as a bit. This tutorial will show you step by step how to install an accessory or bit into the Dremel tool. I use the Dremel 8220 for this demonstration. I go through the safety steps of making sure your Dremel is both off and unplugged, or if you have a cordless model making sure it is off and to remove the battery if the battery is removeable. I show you how to loosen the collet nut and install the accessory then how to tighten the collet nut. I also go over how far down the accessory should be installed into the collet. I have other Dremel videos that I will link in a playlist at the end of this video, if you are interested and have time please check that playlist out. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for explaining in "for dummies" terms because I want to learn how to use tools but some of these other channels talk in "carpenter" language and I am clueless. I am a newbie and need practical basic terms. Thank you!

Thank you for your video. I have a problem with the Dremel 4300 I bought recently, the 1/8 collet can’t be inserted into the collet receiver, don’t know the reason, and I can’t find any video showing the similar problem,

Todd, here in Europe, there are 8220 with 5 attachments and 56 accessories, 2 x 2mAh batteries and a nice top-loader and drawer box for just $170 whereas the same price only gets you a 8260 with a few accessories and 1 or 2 attachments and a much smaller box, which one would you go for?

HI Sir Kay and thanks for watching! I haven't had a chance to look into the 8260 too much yet. I do like the 8220 I have though and I am happy with it. Thanks again for watching and good luck on your choice!

@@SM-ib2xz I'm assuming you guys figured it out by now, hopefully. Just got 8240. Same issue. Took the nut all of the way off, popped bit in from the other side. It helped to open up the actual loading side,
