Thanks for the video, very useful! Just a quick question, the previous owner to my house had a flag hanging but took it down and now I have the holes left over from the bracket. How do I best go about patching the holes up? This was done on vinyl siding on the front of my house.. Thanks!

Hi David thanks for watching. The vinyl mounting plate is commonly found at hardware stores or siding re-sellers. The intended use is for putting up light fixtures but we have adapted it for flag pole mounting. Let me know if you have any other questions.
What's the purpose of the mounting block? I want to put a flag up but I don't want to ruin my siding. Will a block prevent that? How does it handle in high winds? Why can't I just screw the pole bracket directly into the siding? Thanks. And checking you website out now
Thanks for watching the video. The Mounting plate is to prevent damage to your siding and it will keep your bracket level. If you were to mount the bracket directly to the siding it would dent the siding. You can find the mounting plate at hardware stores or siding companies. www.grandnewflag.com
The mounting plate gets screwed into the siding. If you were to simply screw the bracket into the siding it will push the siding in and it may put the bracket at an angle. This video is one way to mount your bracket. Please watch the entire video to receive the full instruction and decide for yourself if this is the way you would like to do it.
