From swimmingpoolste... this pool has a cartridge filter with a Jandy 3 way diverter valve installed to allow for draining of the pool. Steve also talks about how to correctly install a mechanical flow switch for a salt water chlorine generation system.

All you have to do is plug it in and screw it in the 2x2x1/2 tee.

My salt cell instructions said to place it 3 feet min distance down from the heater outlet.

The flow switch needs 12” minimum distance “after” the chlorinator to prevent turbulance in the chamber. I found out the hardway

Steve the guy that put our pump in some years ago didn't bond it. Is that the same as a ground? It can tend to make me nervous, especially when it's really wet back there

I just plumb in a tee with a spigot above the pump for water drainage.

Hi Steve, Great video series! Quick question: Is the check valve only for heater applications or should it also be used between the salt cell and a cartridge filter for pools without a heater?

At 2:23, you are wrong here, Steve. I bet you just glanced at the pictures in the Aquarite manual instead of reading it. Right below the figure in the plumbing section there’s a note for the flow switch that says “If the switch is plumbed after the cell,the cell can by counted as the 12” (25cm) of straight pipe.”

That change was made in the 2018 aqua rite manual, prior to this, and when this video was filmed then cell did not count towards the straight run.

@@Swimmingpoolsteve , sorry Steve, but I bought and installed my Aquarite myself in April 2014. And that note was there then. Why not add a note to your video to avoid misguiding people? The rest of the video is great, as usual.
