#BimmerTech, Front View Cameras on Cars should come as standard safety features to help drivers mitigate frontover collisions, due to blind ones on the front which can be fatal, especially with young children! SUVs, Pickup Trucks, Minivans and Vans are popular for more spacious cabins, but they had bigger blind views that drivers could not see in front of the front bumper. It would be advantageous for drivers to have one in their vehicle, whether as an aftermarket safety feature or a standard one. Over 520 children and pets were killed by frontover and backover collisions as of 2020. If we had Front & Rear Parking Sensors, Parking Obstruction Warning, Front & Rear Cross Traffic Warning, and Front & Rear Automatic Emergency Brake (City, Highway, Parking) as standard safety features, it would cut down the casualties.

If you have the radar in the front grill, would you just want to offset the position side or height wise?

Yeah, you can offset it, no problem with that. The most important thing is to wire it correctly and put the camera in safe and stable position :)

Does it trigger itself when on reverse? Or you have to always press the option button to trigger it for front view?

@@bimmer-tech Thanks for the detailed video, Nice effort! So, the front camera is triggered when you move to drive from reverse. Does that mean the front camera is powered on through the entire trip? Or Is it possible to switch the camera off automatically after some speed where we no longer require the camera (unless the purpose is to use it as a recorder just like a dash-cam)?

Well, we don't recommend that way. The easiest way is as shown in the video. However, if you manage to wire everything correctly, then why not! Try your best pal!

It will also automatically appear after switching from reverse to drive, it will appear for the amount of seconds selected at the MMI settings.

I was told that not every f30 bmw comes with the interface media unit, is this true? Because without that unit i cant connect the camera right?

Cameras we sell have all the parts you need. e.g. The Rear view Camera (MMI) will have the camera in the mount + the MMI module + the whole wiring.
