No cable retention. This is required per installation instructions and NEC. Secondly, spend the extra 10 bucks and get 1/2 HP. Last a lot a longer. I maintenance manage approximately 3300 units.
Appreciate the video, just replaced my unit in my first single wide trailer, followed your steps from start to finish, had to watch another one to connect the Electric !!! THANKS AGAIN
How do I attach the lower mounting ring to the top part of the disposal if it came off? The upper mount is still attached to the sink, but I can't get the lower ring back on to attach the two together.
Great , clear, explanations. Just wondering why you replaced the pipe extension after removing the old unit. Could it have been reused? Just trying to make my own replacement experience as smooth as possible. Thank you again!
I replaced it for a couple of reasons, mainly because the extension on the old pipe was old and form fitted to the extension on the old garbage disposal. I would have also had to cut it. It was just easier to replace it. You definitely don't need to replace it as long as if fits between the elbow on the garbage disposal and the pee-trap.
Hey quick question here: I forgot to knock out the plug in the diswasher drain inlet on the disposal....until AFTER I mounted and plumbed it! To save having to remove unit etc. can I just drill it out? Will the plastic debris from the drilling hurt the disposal if any gets into the chamber. I can hold a vacuum hose up while I'm drilling to try and suck up anything but supposing a little makes it inside the disposal? What do you think? Thanks!
I can't imagine it would hurt anything. I think the idea of trying to vacuuming the piece out is a good plan. You might be able to just take a screw driver and push it out too.
@@julianandres4878the plug is to insert the dishwasher drainage hose, so if you don’t have a dishwasher or it doesn’t drain to your garbage disposal you need to keep it so that it doesn’t leak through there
Thank you for the video man! Quick ??? Did you turn the breaker off at all on the power that leads to your garbage disposal? I was told to do so but I don’t think it’s necessary. Plz let me know I’m about to start the project lol on my old garbage disposal
i bought one of these, and it did not come with a cord, lmao, that's like buying a tv and it doesn't come with a remote or a screen. how f'ing dumb. thanks for your video.
That’s great, but! My problem is that the metal ring that sits on top of the garbage disposal unit, is not fixed to the garbage disposal unit, it just comes off. So how do you attach that top metal ring onto the garbage disposal unit, before you attach the garbage disposal unit onto the bracket that’s attached to the sink? I’ve watched about 10 installation videos and not one single person explains how to do that. If I tried to attach the garbage disposal unit with the ring the way it is now, the unit would just fall off, because that ring is not holding it up. You guys, you all try to make it look so easy, but you don’t give us every single step of the way and you don’t explain the potential problems you could have, and how to fix them. Not even the official insinkerator installation video shows us what to do if the ring is not attached to the unit itself. You’re all driving me flipping nuts.
