Not many homeowners in the U.S. install wall-hung toilet carrier units, so not many plumbers here know how. Excellent video on how to install this wall mounted toilet carrier. The Geberit wall carrier is the best one I have seen yet. I really like the 2"x4" model which opens the doors for anyone to have one in their bathroom. This is the best video and helps a lot during installation. Nice job.

I agree with the water connection tip. I have forwarded this on to Geberit for video consideration. The vent pipe is connected on the drainage pipe and not the wall carrier itself. It will be located below the floor level and then run to the nearest wall or tie into the closest vent to share termination through roof or utilize air admittance valve if permitted by local plumbing codes. This will connect to a 3" size pipe for drainage which usually measures 3.5" in diameter. It will work great!

This video sold me on buying this unit. I bought a different name-brand toilet. I’m in the midst of installation of this unit with the toilet in my basement. I bought it because I didn’t want to build a box for a floor mounted toilet. And a urinal would not have sufficed. This video was VERY useful! Great job, Gerberit!

@@AgentOffice It is convenient, in that clients no longer have to go up to my first floor. They can stay in the basement barber shop. The only drawback is the flush- it has to be flushed at least two times in order to get a clear bowl. Even then there can be residuals left behind 😷

@johnfrwhipple This is very good information. You are absolutely correct. I wanted you to know that Geberit has recently launched their newest wall carrier that fits inside a 2" x 4" wall. @Gianniz You are correct. A large amount of our waste and overflow products are requested as ABS from many of our West coast buyers. In Colorado, it is very hard to find any ABS fittings and pipe other than a hardware store. The professionals all use PVC for it's durability in our various temperature environment. I think the supply houses also help dictate which products are used. It's all good...

USA is usually behind the curve in plumbing. They usually wait to see if a product works or fails prior to implementing into their systems. USA is past the good old days of copper and onto pex piping now for domestic water supply. Wall mounted toilets have been around the USA for quite some years now. The 2" x 4" installation method is new though. These are some fantastic products. See them and more at HomeToDreamHome on the internet.

@sangypa There is a 12" straight pipe adapter connector , Geberit #366.887.16.1 , available that can help with this situation. This piece will take the place of the 90 degree bend and will allow you to connect to a horizontal drain line nearby. Make sure the vent is installed properly and that the waste line has a 1/4" per foot of fall. We currently have the wall carriers in stock (delivery in 3-4 days) and the 12" straight connector will ship from factory and take about 7-8 days. Thank-You

I have a question about the black discharge pipe. Yes, it`s 100mm in diameter. It fits to the PVC inlet, but why we have to use a flexible rubber connector, please? May be we can glue them together, or via any inside lip gasket? Alternatively ... silicone would work OK... Or, there is a reason to use this sleeve rubber connector exactly? Thank you

I ordered this system and the drain shown at 3 minutes is 5 inches.... Does that metal connector secure a 5inch to 3 inch drain connection??

@gregleb0ss Wall hung toilets are becoming more popular in the USA than ever. PVC pipe is most common for drains,waste, and vent plumbing systems. Uponor (Wirsbo) Pex pipe is the most commonly used piping for domestic water supply. It really depends in what part of the US you are working in, however, these materials would be the most commonly used. Geberit just produced a new wall carrier that fits in a 2" x 4" wall. Can you use these with other brand bowels, like a Toto or duravit? Also, what’s the lifespan of the in wall parts? Can the be replaced as long as the company is in business?

Yes, these carriers work with several different brands. There is not really any life span other than they could last a long time. Yes, replacement parts readily available at suppliers or online.

@johnek2002 It is NOT recommended that the Geberit wall carriers be installed on an outside wall in cold climate areas. The only way I see this being successful is if you had an unusually wider exterior wall that would allow for the 2 x 4 model to be installed with sufficient insulation between the tank and outside wall. I have seen where some customers have firred out the wall only behind the wall carrier to allow for this extra insulation space. Good Luck!

that's not good for your toilet tank as it eats away at the gasket and plastic fittings. I used to use these and noticed water blue water leaking from the toilet. replaced the gaskets thinking i didnt install them correctly happened again so i replaced a again then stopped using the blue "stuff" as you say and it sropped leaking. Later I found out the stuff contains bleach. unless they offer a biodegradable alternative I'd stay away from that stuff.

Dunno if Odalis answer addressed your question or not but: Unless you create an access point on the other side of the wall, or you are willing to demolish part of the wal to get at ti, you don't access these water tanks. Ever.

You can access the water tank by removing the flush actuator from the wall. All internal working parts can be easily removed if needed. Do not insert any cleaning chemical or product such as you are inquiring about. These cleaning products are always a problem to any toilet make and model. The only safe ones to use are the ones that mount inside the actual bowl of the toilet and not inside the tank.

Hi Scott, the Gerber wall mounted toilets are accessible from the front flush actuator. You can stick your whole arm down into the tank if needed.(small arm:)

He failed to demonstrate installation of upper lag bolts on the carrier. (Evidently the cistern must be removed from retainer clips. No mention or how-to on in this video) Additionally, my shutoff valve only clocks at 90 degrees. There is no option for 80 degrees. Could use more clarity on drain connection as written instructions aren't clear. I'm sold on this product (on third install in my home) however, these important inaccuracies/omissions/clarifications in the video need to be addressed.

Why do people post install videos with missing steps? First off, you need to remove the feet and tap the internal nut up to your height, likely about 4 and an eighth (sorry metric people), then reinstall the feet. Likely other steps missing that I will find as I continue.

Tons of reasons.... because it's hygienic as there are no crevices for your fecal matter and urine to creep into, and because it is space saving giving you more room in your bathroom, and because it looks far more modern... get out of the 1950s!
