I just noticed that you didn't use a mounting plated but attached the holosun directly to the slide !?

This is probably not an MOS Glock, rather a custom slide milled for a Holosun. No plate needed, but you can only run reddots with this pattern footprint. This is how I run my Glocks, with the milling done by Jagerwerks.

Did you use the longer screws or shorter

did you sue the shorter screws or the longer ones?? also, i'm assuming that's an aftermarket slide?? the oem ones need a mounting plate in my experience... this wouldve been great info to include!!!

Did you put the Loctite just on the tip of the screw? Thanks.
@AustinOutdoors.
@AustinOutdoors. Год назад
Normally yes you put it just on the tip it’s not good to over loctite it

This advice is incorrect. Loctite is a threadlocker and is made to be applied to the threads. A tiny bead or dot on the threads. Putting loctite on the tip can create a false pressure reading on the Torque wrench. As you tighten down the loctite can fill the void at the bottom and increases tension as it cannot be compressed. So you can have way less torque than you think.This is the worst way to apply loctite. @@tonymarinelli7304

Don't ever put Loctite on the tip. It is a threadlocker. Screws that come with reddots have pre-installed threadlocker on the threads. The tips are noticably and significantly absolutely clear of any Loctite.@@tonymarinelli7304

When I bought mine, someone at the gun shop said you should ONLY use the screws that came with it? I can’t recall if he said the screws that came with the slide, or the optic? I’m assuming it would have to be with the ones that came with the optic? Thanks guys!
@WorkmanFirearms

It would be the screws that came with the slide meant for that specific optic. - Aidan

thanks for the info, but how would the slide manufacturer know what optic someone will use?
@jaybirdtapsnracks3460

This looks like a custom slide, milled for the Holosun optic. So it comes with the correct screws and doesn't require a mounting plate. @@user-wo2rc3bf4x

Apologize for earlier post. I just got a custom slide for my G20, and they specified that THEIR screws must be used with the chosen optic. It’s a Zaffiri, so I used their screws for my Holosun 507c. 15 inch pounds of torque with some blue loctite. So far it’s holding nicely. If I do my job and pull the trigger straight back I’m putting every round through the same hole 🕳️. Using a lone woof standard length barrel, oem internals, extractor, etc., and it runs. Had a few FTE, so I’m gonna try both the next higher & lower recoil springs (15 lb-20lb) and see if that effects the FTE.

Dude, where’s your adapter plate? That’s putting a lot of stress on those two little screws.
@MD-xb1qw
@MD-xb1qw Год назад
The plate is only needed for an RMR because the battery is exposed on the bottom unlike the enclosed battery on the Holosun.
@jaybirdtapsnracks3460
@jaybirdtapsnracks3460 7 месяцев назад
This is a custom slide milled for a Holosun specifically, would also fit an RMR (same footprint) so no plates needed and it comes with the appropriate screws. Red dot brand specific adapter plates are needed for a Glock MOS, even the Holosun. @@MD-xb1qw

@@MD-xb1qwOn a “normal” Glock MOS slide, you do need a plate to install a Holosun 507C. This gun did not have that footprint, which should have been mentioned.

And if you don't have torque wrench, send it "reasonably"... Enough pressure plus loctite should be good.

Ive never used a torque driver on mine either
