www.toxicdiesel... Industrial Injection offers stock CP3 replacement pumps from Bosch for 2006-2010 Duramax 6.6L Diesels engines. These pumps are factory replacements for Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Duramax Diesel engines, intended to be used in stock engines with no modifications.

dude as a guy who works on these everyday, i know how guys flat rate these engines, and i have had hundreds of y bridges off, personalty i would find it easier to get the y-bridge off with a snap on quarter inch drive wobble, and a snap on 10mm universal short socket. use a little piece of tape to hold the nuts in while you re-install it. that and a pry bad pushing down on the BASE of the turbo to help push the bridge down:) but as long as the job gets done that's all that matters!

Thanks for this tip. On 2006 classic LBZ, I was able to remove the y bridge and remove the pump without removing the coolant crossover or thermostat housing. The top rear passenger bolt was tight on the turbo but with a combination of stubby wrenches and thin wrenches I was able to get it. Once it was loose I used a pick on the bottom of the bolt and tip of finger on top to spin it out. The others were removed with a 1/4" snap on short swivel. The passenger side alternator bracket needed to come loose and forward a bit to get one of the pump bolts with a wrench. The y bridge was a little tedious but worth the time savings for me.

@@larsmoservice588 LBZ bridge is a cake walk compared to LMM. SI states removal of transmission and turbo to gain access to rear bridge bolts. This shortcuts all of that...

Did you also replace all the injectors and fuel lines. It's my understanding that there is metal in everything... Got the same issue at the moment...Debating if I should do the work or let Dealership do it at the cost of $9,000.oo.... Crap it all...Just got out of debt for the second time in my life...

2009 with 105k cost $11,700 last year. Just had same problem on 2012 with 123k yesterday and dealer quote was $9,700.

@@HumpDaddy01 I was literally talking to my guy about mine today and learned I had a cp3 and he said the new cp4 conversion to the cp3 costs about 4 grand and when the cp4 eats itself it does cost 10,000 to fix it

Replace only the high pressure pump is that ok I didn’t have any metal in the system

Not sure how your getting 4 to 10 grand on doing this? Reman pump is under a grand. I'm doing the work myself so not getting paid the labor rate although wish I did👍

Lml CP4 pump is about $10k-$12k job to replace the pump, rails, feed pipes, return system, HC injector, and 8 injectors. Just got finished with one

I can't even remember writing this it was so long ago. Anyway my LB7 has a CP3 pump which is still good. Turned out my issue was injectors and had them replaced by a local reputable diesel shop. 6 grand for parts and labor. Being I only paid 12,500 for the 2001 chevy 3500 dually in 2016 adding on 6 grand is nothing on what used trucks go for now. I decided to have the shop do it since they give a warranty on their work for parts and labor. Just so happens the lead mechanic also has a 2002 duramax and first thing he did when he bought it was change out the injectors. He said they are the best diesel trucks out there so he bought one👍

If you have an HSP you bridge, you need to take the rear pump off the cp3. Ask me how I know and why 3 of my wrenches are in my neighbors tree

There are no timing mark as the fuel injectors are computer controlled.

I also have the exact same question I have a 2001 Chevy Duramax LB7 6.6 with a high pressure pump that I had replaced but the mechanic told me the pump didn't need to be synchronized...but it still hasn't been able to start without spraying starter fluid & then run longer than 10 minutes without dying out on me. I hate it because I am a "woman" this so called "mechanic" wants to talk down to me like I'm a child! He's now telling me that the custom made fuel lines I had made for it aren't the exact size that it needs and it is causing air in the lines which was causing it to die out but the fuel lines where exact replicas of the original ones. We already changed the FICM, glow plugs, FPR, new oil pump, then we cleaned the fuel injectors, & the fuel pump housing we replaced all new gaskets, and cleaned the fuel tank completely as well as replacing this high pressure fuel pump and it still won't run longer than 10 mins....I love my truck but it's sending me to the poor house! (literally I had to take out 2 payday loans to get some of this work done) I am desperate to get this truck up and running again! I would really appreciate if you would let me know if the pump was supposed to be synchronized when installing the new one? Thanks in Advance!

Rhondavas1977 sounds like some sort of security system shit down if it’s 10 minutes exact. I am also curious on what ended up being the fix. Also it does not need timed since it’s common rail.

This is a common rail system. There are not timing mark, the pump just need to rotate to create pressure. Injectors are electronically controlled.

These trucks really aren’t that hard to work on. I did a fpr regulator on a Duramax the other day, my first time doing any “major” work on one and it was actually quite easy, just took a bit of time.

@@morisventura674 most likely yours isn’t starting because the fuel filter housing isn’t holding prime or it’s might be leaking, above the fuel filter there’s a big button you can press and prime it, keep pressing it until it gets really hard then try starting it.
