Just a quick note that this video has been edited a few times since its original posting. In the original video I’ve commented on the handle holes and handle fitting not being done as this door was for a customer and the handle had not been chosen. Hence why this was not done. This has now been removed but if anyone needs any advice on the aforementioned, please just message and I will gladly oblige.
Excellent video, thank you for putting in the effort to make it, I need to make a custom security door/shutter 50"X30" to fit in front of a ground-level casement window for egress only and this helped a lot in working out how to do it. I live in North America, otherwise, I would hire you to do it.
Hi Calvin I don’t bevel the edge of the door if I’m fitting a multipoint lock, as it may twist the face of the lock and cause problems with the operation. So long as you have a decent margin/gap around the the door you shouldn’t have any problems.
Hi Lauren Here is a link to the exact one I used in the video. www.ironmongerydirect.co.uk/product/era-5-point-timber-and-upvc-door-lock-514043?vat=1&shopping=true&infinity=ict2~net~gaw~ar~387176555199~kw~~mt~~cmp~Smart%20Shopping%20%3E%20Top%20Products~ag~Ad%20group&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhs79BRD0ARIsAC6XpaW1peQWZJDkjKrNSRB2zEdufzIj__FucqrDqT1HtTI5-BF1AL9HXeAaArVQEALw_wcB I hope this helps Adrian
Shouldn’t be to expensive. A good carpenter will get one of these fitted in a day. Depends where you are as to the cost of a local carpenter. Anywhere between £100-£200 approximately.
