Hello friends! We bought a small sized PetSafe Pet Screen Door kit off of Amazon the other day. Please join us as we install the kit and test it out on our Siamese cat Alice! #cats #siamesecat www.amazon.com/PetSafe-Pet-Sc...
I tried it on my pet screening, a thicker fiberglass that’s claw proof (before I thought of building a catio onto my window, I didn’t want my cats to break through the regular screening). Anyway, it didn’t work. I couldn’t clasp the frame onto the door. I had my screen re-screened with the regular mesh screen. Will try again! And yes, the middle groove is for the regular mesh type screen and the outer groove is for a metal screen.
I wound up getting very small and short nuts and screws at Ace Hardware. Like 1/2" long and they held the corners of the frame well after drilling pilot holes.
you didn't mention what type screen material you were installing the door in. the instruction says the groove you cut varies if it's metal or fiberglass
Yes, the speed up was a bit clumsy. As far as the grooves, they just lock together when the panels are placed on top of each other and hammered into place. No trick to it. As I said in the last comment, I changed out the screws with 0.25" bolts and nuts. Still in place and working today.
