I just installed these on my 1984 Monte Carlo SS. Easy install and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Looks amazing and makes the suspension feel positively modern. I am placing an order for your front upper and lower control arms tonight. Thanks for such a great product and value for the $ spent.

Thanks, Nick! Glad to hear that the shocks are working great for you. We'd love to see a picture once you have everything installed. You can upload a picture on our website here: www.qa1.net/about/customer-vehicles

will they work on a gbody el camino too? for some reason half of these kits only work on the cars, not the el camino lol
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 6 лет назад
Thanks for your question. They will work on El Camino's as well. We'd recommend leaning towards the heavier spring rates on the El Camino's when using this rear kit. thanks!

If you are looking to just upgrade your daily driver/cruiser, we would recommend the Single Adjustables. If you daily drive it, but you also race it pretty often, we would recommend the Double Adjustables. The MOD™ Series Shocks are our new, ultimate performance shock if you are pretty serious in the racing. Single Adjustable: RCK52352 Double Adjustable: RCK52356 MOD™ Series Shocks: RCK52352

Yes, these should work for your wagon.

Do those lower mounts clear a 15x10 wheel with 5.5 backspace? Will they even clear a 15x8 wheel with 4" backspace?
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 8 лет назад
Hi Brian! This kit will most likely not clear a 15”x10” wheel with that backspacing. The bracket for the lower shock mount isn’t much wider than the lower trailing arm mount, but it does relocate the shock mount further towards the rear of the car. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact our tech department at 800.721.7761. Thanks!

I have a 1978 Cadillac Seville with rear leaf spring suspension. Very poor ride. Would like to change to coil or coil over. Any suggestions? Would need to replace differential and install linke to hold diff.
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 6 лет назад
The simplest thing you could do would be adding adjustable shocks to improve your ride. Going to coil-overs is going to require major changes to your suspension, such as a link-style suspension, which would remove the leaf springs. Give our tech line a call and we can discuss some options for you.
@hedleylint7622
@hedleylint7622 6 лет назад
My Seville has air shocks in the rear. with proper amount of air in them the rear is as stiff, hart to move, with no air rear is about one inch low, I will give your tech line a call.

Those brackets were a pain in the ass to put on.. the bolts didn’t line up at all. I had to bend and drill out the holes a little bit. Also had to go buy new bolts from Home Depot cuz the bolts it came with were too short

Hi! So sorry to hear about the trouble bolting in this kit. We’d like it if you gave Damien Brase a call for a few more details on the installation. He can be reached at 952-985-5675 Monday-Friday. We haven’t experienced what you’re describing and we’re hopeful to learn what was different with your install. Thanks!

I have the same issue. Currie 9inch in my 85 cutlass. A little issue with the line up. Bottom bolts only made it through 1/4 inch.

Hi. I recently bought a GN with QAP rear coilovers installed by previous owner. I'm curious to know what the advantage is compared to the stock suspension. The car still has original front suspension and I have the original rear springs in a box. Thanks.
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 4 года назад
The benefits of running newer, aftermarket suspension is the improved ride quality. Our suspension components help your car drive like new and if you are into racing the car at all, they give you a little more edge than the stock suspension would. Do you know which coil-overs are installed on the car?
@adamcosta4610
@adamcosta4610 7 лет назад
How much adjustment is there to the ride height? Can the car be lowered 2"? can you retain the stock trailing arms?
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 7 лет назад
The car can be lowered 1.5", going lower you can run into other issues. You'd have to remove the bump stops. Yes, you can retain the stock trailing arms. Thanks!
@adamcosta4610

Thank you very much. It looks really fantastic. I saw a base price of about $600 on your website. Does that include the entire kit of just the shocks/mounting hardware?
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 7 лет назад
That includes mounting brackets and rear single or double adjustable aluminum shocks, springs and all necessary hardware. Single adjustables retail at $687.75, double adjustables are $879.75, but I'd recommend checking with your preferred performance parts dealer as they usually sell these for less.

Hey Jim, the most common spring for the rear of a G-Body is our 200 lb/in spring which is covers most applications.

Not at this time, but we have it on our list to shoot. We do, however, have written installation instructions under the "Tech" tab on our GM sway bars page if that helps: www.qa1.net/suspension/street-performance-racing-suspension-components/sway-bars/gm-sway-bars Thanks!

Um, you completely skipped how to adjust the ride weight. Those nuts are WAY up on that shock tube, eh?
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 8 лет назад
Hi Nick, thanks for the feedback on our video. Ride height can be adjusted by spinning the spring perch down the shock body. The shock bodies on these cars are a bit longer, and this car's owner wanted to keep a stock ride height, so we had to adjust the spring up the shock body quite a bit.

Johnny Moran it is definitely a northern car, but I'd argue it's still a nice car.
