If you install it not hooked up to the reverse camera but to a license plate light for example, will you be able to turn the camera of by a button on the mirror?

Just order one of theses couple weeks ago I had it wire up to the cigarettes lighter port soon start up car I was able to press the button and it turns off now it stays on while driving
