EchoMaster Rear View Mirror Backup Camera Kit. Purchased the item from Bestbuy and the install was simple and easy. Took me about 15 just for a simple test fit. Links: Bestbuy: www.bestbuy.com... ECHOMASTER echomaster.com/
Thanks George, I had lost my installation instructions and after watching your video I was able to complete the installation, back up camera is working great.
Your video is one of the best I have seen on youtube. Simple, clear and concise and your apllication is universal for installing in any car. I used your demo to do the same setup in my 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup ext. cab 2wd. Thank you. Excellent demo
I bought something like this LEXAND LR90 video recorder in the mirror brought it home turned it on did not set the time and date flew off The reason was a swollen battery at 300 mah put from the mobile phone at 600 now everything works
I couldn't believe it when they told me 150 to install. Plus I was supposed to go to the dealership to get my mirror taken down first. Takes about 20 minutes to install.
I installed this same kit in my car awhile ago. Occasionally when I start my car, a single loud beep will come from the mirror. Any idea what is causing this? It happens once every 4 or so starts.
Best Buy installed today. Camera will not hold the selected brightness but keeps going back to a very light brightness Called Echomaster support and was told it’s automatic. Then why do you have a choice of brightness? Do you think camera is defective?
Did you have two red wires one that connects the mirror and one on video cable ? Did you use both wires ? UPDATE after wiring camera would not work properly and could not contact echo master went back to best buy and unit is Not Compatible with my vehicle. So make sure it works for your vehicle before purchase or install.
Thanks for the video George. From the posted date it looks like you have had the camera system for 8-9 months now. How do you like it? Anything you wish it can do? Things you don't like about it?
+Raymond Woolverton I actually wish the monitor can become a additional screen for my phone, however it does have an extra input connector for other video funtions however I havent gotten around to figure it out... The thing that I have found that could use a upgrade is the reverse camera itself to be in a HD. Overall was a deal at 150 or so when I got it. Looks as if bestbuy increased the cost on the product. Overall not bad for the product itself.
Georgey George thanks. How about the autodimming for night driving. I saw another comment on this posting questioning if it worked or how well it works. Did you get this function to work? Does it work well? Other item of concern is that I can't find this model on EchoMaster's website. It would be nice to download the manual and installation guide to help get a feel for this product before shelling out $200.
Thanks for reviewing this. I'm curious about two things now that I assume you've been using this setup for a bit. Is the mirror truly auto-dimming? I've seen a lot of confusing advertising that some mirrors are "auto dimming" but what they're really only referring to is that when the backup camera display is on, it will automatically adjust the brightness of the image. Second, have you run into situations yet where the backup camera image isn't bright enough? That seems to be another failing of many rear view mirror camera systems - they can get washed out easily in bright light conditions. Thanks!
Scott Garman using it now for some time it's actually not Auto dimming from the driver shining high beams in the night. But the monitor actually will brighten if it's dark. The good thing about is that BestBuy will let you to bring it back.
I connected my back up camera in my car. its a pyle plcm4550. I hard wired the rear view mirror to the fuse box using a fuse tap. Used a 10amp fuse as the original fuse and a 7.5amp for the camera itself. When the car is on I can see one of the light on the rear view mirror is on (when connected to the video cable). Unfortunately no display is on when the car is in reverse. What could be the problem. Can you help me out.
Hey George, great vid! It definitely answered some of the questions I had. I'd like to see how you powered the backup camera a little better tho. It was hard to make out where you plugged the red cable into.
Kurtiskurtical. connect the red wire that runs to the front of the car (via fuse box) into an accessory power fuse. The black wire is the standard ground.
hey i have a question,i have a 2009 rav4 that came with a back up camera but whenever i put it in reverse it turns blue and then goes black ..what do you think the problem may be ??
I had a Echomaster MM-4320 DVR model # PCAM-LB2B-N installed. It worked perfectly until I was in an accident then it went to the standby mode. The dealer and the manufacturer both, have no idea how to reset it to record. Anybody got any ideas? Their solution is to buy another mirror. help
Might be possible. However for the camera on the back it will come on once I put the car into reverse because I have connected it to the wire that powers the reverse light.
This is the one I got... It was cheaper when I bought it. Now they have it at 199.00 at Best Buy. www.bestbuy.com/site/echomaster-rear-view-mirror-back-up-camera-kit-black/4519602.p?skuId=4519602
Georgey George there is no camera attached to the rear of the car. I bought the car from dealer I'm thinking camera was removed before I purchased it. so since I have the mirror I just have to see if wiring is intact and purchase the camera?
Patrick Nance that's correct I did not connect that one. I am under the assumption since the Mirror Has the screen that you are able to cast your phone content. however I didn't do it and am trying to find a way to utilize that feature.
Georgey George Aah, ok. That makes sense. Would it be wrong to just twist the two wires together (one wire from the bulb and the other for the camera) and put that back into the bulb? And thanks for the reply. Great video too!
It’s a good job everything fits DIRECTLY to the car otherwise you could send it DIRECTLY back to obtain a DIRECT refund. Presume you have a job as a DIR3CTOR?
