How To Install a Roto-Fab Cold Air Intake | 2010 - 2015 Camaro SS | Step-by-Step Installation

Thank you VERY much!!! New to bolt-ons and this really helps. Took notes for the garage, here they are. (Notes on Cosentino's process) Cosentino steps, notes to install RotoFab CAI on 2010-2015 Camaro: 1. oil cap remove, set aside; engine cover lift, set aside 2. breather tube on left from valve cover to breather box, slide little clip, then pull out modesetly, rest comes out when remove air box 3. 10mm socket, remove 2 nuts holding the OEM airbox - keep nuts and washer 4. remove mass air flow meter just before the airbox, grey retaining clip, pull it back all the way then push back in "just a little bit" bc need room to push the black tab in (from above) and pull it back 5. loosen clamp on inlet tube (attaches to TB) 6. lift up whole tube, slide back, breather tube and big tube come back 7. grab bottom of box, lift to make washer and box come off of firm attached to screw thing that is tattached to car 8. lift out 9. remove two 7mm bolts the thing that holds the air sensor to the tube, life out the card-like air flow sensor 10. install the air flow sensor on the new box, see the ARROW, the ARROW is the direction of the air FLOW (from filter to TB) - also lines up to screw holes 11. fasten with screws from RFab kit -- screwdriver, hand snug, dont break by overtight 12. weatherstrip - start with short one, angle cut goes along the turn part, like up groove, put on, press firmly all the way up -- now put the other strips on LONG goes on top, side with the tube hold 13. put big rubber connector thing over tube with clamps, no gaps 14. connect that to inlet hose, clamp down 15. threaded hole, screw in 90 degree thing supplied by kit - make it face end of tube closest to it 16. drop it in place - the little nipple goes into the factory grommett, there is a hole that goes on the factory stud that hold the old airbox (line up grommett, stud, pres down firmly, use supplied flange nut 17. wire pretector to protect mass air flow sensor wiring 18. recnonect mass air flow sensor, push until click, then push in the clamp 19. connector rubber, small side to TB, clamp; other side big side goes to the big hose 20. install 90 degree black tubethe 90 degreee fitting thing needs to be on throttel body side, AND closest to the breahter tube 21. fasten all clamps tighten 22. breather tube , suppolied hose is new breather tube replaces ond one... run from the 90 degr3ee attachment on the big tube bendy thing to the nipple on the engine that the breather tube came off of 23. install big filter , use supplied hose clamp -- snaps in place, tighten hose clamp 24. AC tube very close to box, put the supplied rubber sleeve/cover slide over the silver AC line, on the firewall side of the black stub part of the AC line 25. put cover back on (angle it back in, front up, align grommetss, push down) 26. put oil cap back on 27. enjoy 28. add LT headers Stainless Power ;)

Is it a big difference with the cold air intake and is it worth if? I’m thinking about ordering one but I’m not sure yet

Great video, thanks. How has it been working out for you? Have you seen or felt any noticable gains? I have been debating on getting one because I have not seen any videos or proof that the cold air intakes actually produce the HP gains that they claim. I have seen many videos that show that they only gain about 4 hp. I have seen many others that prove and show that they car actually lose power. I have also read and seen videos that the open box cold air intake actually suck in all the heat and hot air from the engine and cause it not to gain anything or lose power. Is the roto fab you installed oiled or dry? I read many posts that if its oiled and you don't clean the maf, the oil will eventuslly mess up the engine. Just asking all these question because, the cold air intake doesn't cost too much, however fixing an engine does. I feel that they r more of a gimmick. How about if you just replace the intake pipe and replace the stock filter with a K&N or an Airaid filter, they cost have of what a cold air intake costs and provide the same HP gains, about 4 or 5. I think I'll opt for long tube headers a cam and a tune. That is a proven upgrade.

Im so glad you made this video. Did you have any follow up issues after install with CIL coming on, timing issues, etc? Rotofab fab is proud of the no tune feature, what are your thoughts about that?

The BBK throttle bodies are made very well. They are expensive and they do add zip to the throttle but I don't know whether they're worth the investment. I purchased it at Summit Racing.

great info i got the K&N open air intake for my 2015 SS just wondering about the vent hose is it located at the same position on the 2015 SS? when you read the manual it says something about that the vent hose needs to go down to the oil filter cap?

Good video, very helpful with the install of my Roto-Fab. One thing, you had a much easier time putting that hose on than I did, I had one hell of a time pushing that hose onto the two nipples, they just did not want to go on. Did you put any lubricant on the ends of the hose to make them go on as easy as it did for you?

quick question does this intake require a tune ? i have been told yes since it bigger than oem specs

Just watched your video and it convinced me to finally purchase one! Ordered today. I've heard conflicting reports on sound change after install. I currently have a Borla ATAK catback system on my '14 2SS. Will I notice any sound changes? Reports range from "only during WOT" and a general exhaust note change throughout idling and the rev range.

Really really thinking about doing this if my wife doesn't shoot me first. I just ordered the mbr muffler delete from summit. Does the performance change enough to notice? I read comments on hp change and response change for the better.

Do you have to oil it up? Or is it already oiled?

Man I tried to install mine today and it kept dying after a few seconds . I didn’t have time to troubleshoot it because it was getting dark . I might try again in the morning .

Wow! I have no clue about engine mods, but you make it look so darn easy. Dumb question, mine is a 2010 2LT RS V6. Stop laughing, I commuted 4 hrs a day in LA traffic. 😖🤣🤦🏻‍♂️ Anyway, not anymore. Would this be something worth doing on mine? Can it even be done on a V6?

Na prawdę są ludzie którzy w to wierzą ? W latach 90 tez na mokry filtr był szał, ale w silnikach VVTi, a nie w V6 czy V8.
