This video shows you how to install a satellite wall plate and connecting to a coaxial cable. This is perfect for when you want to neaten up your TV system or have flexibility if you're likely to move the TV around the room.
The tools you will need:
1x sidecutters
1x Stanley knife or utility blade
1x small flat-headed screwdriver
Parts you will need
1x satellite wallplate
coaxial cable
Step by step
1) Using the cable cutters . cut the coaxial cable to the correct length. This needs to be short enough so that the wall plate can fit into the back box.
2) Using the utility knife, perform a small incision around the outside of the PVC jacket around 1.5cm or half an inch away from the end of the cable, forming a ring and remove. Exposing the cable braid and screen.
3)Fold back the cable braid and remove the screen.
4) Around 0.5cm or 1/6 inch, using the utility knife cut back the dielectric exposing the center conductor.
5) Loosen the screws on the wall plate and insert the center conductor into the center screw down terminal.
6) Tighten all screws so that the center conductor and ground shield (braid) are making a secure connection.
7) Screw wall plate into back box.
