Another excellent video. I have learned a great deal from you and I especially appreciate the clothing tutorials as I am not a quilter. Still, your quilting tutorials are teaching me things I can employ.
I've never heard of doing a seamless zipper. Thank you so much love this method and going to try it soon. Thank you for all your tips and quilts, etc. that you show on your you tube tutorials. Look forward every week to watching them. Just became friends with you on Face Book. Have a great week.
Thanks so much Laura, I have had a favourite skirt in my mending pile for 5 years as I’ve never done a zipper, with your wonderful tutorial I now have the confidence to have a go at replacing the zipper. Thanks again from Australia 🌻✂️✂️
Great tutorial. I don’t always want pull on pants so this is a great way to add a zipper if you like the pants but not the pull up! Also great way to add pockets anywhere you want!
I just did a ruler wrap class and this is exactly how we did zippers.I had never done a zipper before so I have learned a great lesson and watching you I now have it embedded in my brain to do it again. I also can look your video up for a refresher ! Thank you great job teaching a valuable lesson.
I wish I would of thought of this when I was going through chemo. It would have been great to put in a couple of shirts where my port was. Thanks I will try to remember this.
Laura, thank you so much for a great and simple idea for sewing. I will use this method for handbags and zipper pockets! Excellent Tutorial, Mónica from Bolivia 🇧🇴 🧵📍✂️
I'm amazed that I've never seen that technique in my sewing years. Similar to bound pocket / buttonhole technique. I'm going to have a go at this soon. Thanks.
Funny ... when I saw the title of this installment I was a bit puzzled. Then it dawned on me --- this is what I did for a laundry duffle graduation gift for a great niece getting ready to go off to college. I wanted it to have a secure, CONCEALED pocket for coins needed at the laundromat, so I knew a zipper closure was the best choice. I built the pocket out of lightweight denim for durability. To keep it concealed inside the duffle, I had to figure out how to gain access to it from the outside of the duffle. A seamless zipper application was the answer. In my case, my zipper actually had the "triangle snipped end" treatment at both ends because it was completely surrounded by the fabric of the duffle whereas Laura's zipper application is for a neckline or hemline with the tab end flush with an opening. I wish I had taken pictures of my construction steps, but now Laura has once again made my day ... I just have to look up this video to remind myself of the technique. I think I topstitched the edges down along my zipper tape, but I really liked seeing how to sew it in without the stitches showing on the outside. Thanks, Laura.
