Nice set up with the pulleys. I use bungy cords on my sails and they have held up during high winds. I guess the bungy gives the sails some flexibility. And if I need the sails tighter I just use shorter bungy cords. The sails have lasted me around 3 years but would be longer if it weren't for the west Texas dry heat. But I like how your set up is strong and clean.
We ordered the same size and are about to install and I figured I should watch some who have already done it to be sure we do it the best way. Thanks so much for your videos- we watched the first one and then this one to be sure you still felt the same after 3 years of doing this. Good info! Wish us luck!
Never to big when it’s enjoyed !! I am in the process of installing a 13’ x 6’ over the uncovered part of my 3/4 covered deck that faces East. It gets a little to hot to enjoy especially from 9-4. Can’t wait to enjoy sitting in the sun but under a sunshade. Like your idea using pulleys and the boat cleats. Thanks
Awesome video! I’m currently building one, using 4 6x6 posts free standing away from the house, I bought the clam cleats in your description just wondering what size rope you used? 550 paracord? Thanks, by far the best setup no turnbuckles!! Quick easy!
Thanks for your video brother! Best way to do it for easy install AND removal. Question for you, how high from top of deck to top of post? Was trying to get an idea on how high to set mine up. Your looks pretty great height wise.
@@robertk9936 I personally would not use 4x4's they flex and bend when you tighten the sail up , as far as the tilt out I didn't do like a certain Degree I just leaned them out some so they weren't straight up and down I hope this helped
I love the pully idea for taking up the slack and getting it tight! I saw this video about a year ago and the guy used "porch swing springs" in order to create the tension to get it taught. Great ingenuity with both approaches! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T5yTZjjg-mQ.html&t
