HOW TO INSTALL A SNORKEL

Great work mate. I just bought one of these today in Brisbane. After checking about 10 of them from different places I noticed that most were exactly the same identical item, but with different name badges. So I just picked the cheapest one of these lower priced versions. The one I got was reduced to under $100.00 but it was exactly the same as a couple of other big name brands that were selling for between $350.00 & $450.00 bucks (on a discount too). Some people think that because they are paying big money for these things they are getting a better product. But from what I have discovered with snorkels is that unless you are buying a Safari snorkel or a stainless job then the plastic ones are more than likely all coming from the same Chinese factory. My template was a little dodgy but, so I had to line it up with the holes on the snorkel & re mark them. But they were only out by a couple of mm. I will fit it tomorrow & I hope it all goes as smoothly as yours did. Cheers mate your video helped me a lot & gave me the confidence to attempt it myself.

awesome video :D would you reckon you can you make a video on how to replace the glow plugs on the triton. cause I have a general idea where its located on the right side of the motor directly under the intake. I've being looking for videos on how to fix my problem & would you have any idea on how to remove rust of an exhaust manifold as my turbo feels sluggish. so I was thinking of changing it. it also has an oil leak surrounding the turbo.

Well done. Maybe someone else already suggested this already, but here goes... All around the snorkel, on the outside, I would place a small line/bead of sealant such as black silicone (car and snorkel are black), limiting the amount of sealant with paper tape all around. Then, smooth it with soap on a finger or a lint free cloth. This will keep water from accumulating between the snorkel and the panel.

Great vid! Got my snorkel on no worries, wouldn't have been able to do it with out your video. Just one question the replacement coolant bottle doesn't have a breather like the factory one is this an issue? Does it need to let heated air out?

What size hole saw did you use through the guard?

Did mine don't cut the inlet piece off the air box the adapter plate fits over it and creates a better seal as there's no raw edge join . All you need to do is file the inside of the adapter if it doesn't slip straight over mine had a small shoulder took less then a minute to file off .

Great vid mate. In the install process atm. Man the hole sawing is a pain. My first attempt the saw went blunt lol used a grinder for the rest and a dremil. Fingers crossed I can get the inner hole in 1 go.

Not a fan of how long the snorkel runs along the side of the fender so I’m looking at doing a short entry snorkel, would it be ok to just run the extra length inside the panel?

Thanks for the video. Question, so the air intake is one factor that can make a car drown in a flooding. I was wondering if the water level tops the engine what other factors will affec a truck. Like alternator or other electrical components or part where engine is located. Just trying to learn when I Install mine. Thanks for humble replies. Awesome video😁

Hey mate, I'm getting my license this year (15 turning 16) and I'm starting to look at buying a triton for myself, one of the first things I'd get done would be a suspension lift kit, there are very few (literally none) on this subject so I think you'd get a lot of attention if you did that

Put a tennis ball on the end of your drill...Drill through the tennis ball and leave on the drill-bit...this stops you from drill too deep...Great video...Well done
