Thanks for the video. I used it as a reference to replace the trigger valve on my Dewalt nail gun. Worked perfectly.

Great video! I just replaced the trigger valve assembly on my N80CB to stop the leak which had developed. Funny thing is the new one leaks too! The gun doesn't leak anywhere else, and functions fine even with the leak. Can you offer any suggestions as to what I should try next?

I realize this video is detailing TVA11, my question would be Is there much of a difference in the TVA11 and a BT50?Also,what can I expect to have to pay for a new/replacement trigger valve assembly?Thank You

Thanks for the question! Are you referring to the BT50 Brad Nailer? mastertoolrepair.com/pneumatic-brad-nailer-parts-bt50b-p-290354.html?osCsid=r4ph46ak25d39rf51v4a6qkbv5 If so, this takes the TVA5, which is a different trigger valve (at $40.93). The overall size is different, as well as the shape of the valve. The TVA11 valve sells for around $19.95 (on sale now) and is typically used on larger nailers, such as the framing nailers. If you have any specific questions you can contact a Bostitch rep directly at 800-556-6696 or contact them via the below link. I hope this helps. www.bostitch.com/en-us/support

I wonder is the small O-ring inside the vale is replaceable or I need to replace the entire valve? I could not find replacement o-ring from for part list? Where do I get the lubricant? Kim

Kim S. The small valve o-ring inside is not offered by Stanley Bostitch separately, unfortunately. As for the o-ring lubricant, this comes with the Bostitch Trigger Valve Kits, but you can purchase a larger container of this from Senco, Hitachi, Bostitch and other manufacturers. We offer it here: www.mastertoolrepair.com/nailer-ring-grease-p-16759.html

so will the newer trigger valve work in the older bostitch nailer
@MasterToolRepair
@MasterToolRepair 8 лет назад
Most likely it will, yes, although some older models used a metal trigger valve assembly in which the newer plastic valve wont' work as a replacement. Do you have the model# of your nailer?

I just replaced the valve on my N79RH, and it does look exactly like the one you used in the video, but the valve it replaced looks different even though the seller said it's the correct one for my nail gun. But, when I press the trigger it just goes "Pshhht" and no nail comes out. The gun is over 10 years old, do you know if they changed the valve at some point?
@MasterToolRepair

The valve was changed at some point, actually. There is an older style TVA6 and TVA11 trigger valve that was green and it does look a bit different from the new valve. Bostitch has changed the design so the new-style valve is white. You can see a pic comparing the old and new valves here: www.diychatroom.com/attachments/f98/14830d1392139644t-how-replace-trigger-valve-bostich-nail-gun-gun-valves.jpg Make sure you have ALL of the components of the old valve removed from the trigger housing. There is a small, plastic orifice cap that the old trigger valve used, gray in color. Make sure this isn't still stuck in the trigger housing. Also, make sure you grease up the o-rings really well when installing the new valve assembly. Once you do this, you should be good to go. If you still can't fire any nails, it's time to disassemble the top cap of the nailer and remove your cylinder as you may have a blown cylinder exhaust seal (or another seal).

Perfect thanks! Yes that's exactly what I had and replaced with the white valve. I removed it and put more lube but still no good. Any thoughts on why it just goes Pssht when I hit the trigger but doesn't drive a nail?

That's a common symptom when you have a broken exhaust seal on the cylinder, or damaged o-rings in the head valve (which is in the top cap of the nailer). If these seals are blown out, the driver won't retract to the top of the cylinder. I would inspect all of the head valve o-rings and seals around the outside of the cylinder. The trigger valve may have been defective; the most common symptom of a bad trigger valve is a constant air leak from it as soon as you connect your air coupler to the nailer. Hope this helps!

I watched, with interest, the installation video for the Stanley-Bostitch TVA11 trigger valve. I was wondering if all the trigger valves are the same for Bostitch nailers? I have a finish nailer, model N59FN, that is several years old, but looks brand new because it is used so seldom. I went to use it the other day, after sitting for a couple years, pulled the trigger once and air just started spewing from the trigger assembly. Can I repair this myself from what I saw in this video?
@MasterToolRepair
@MasterToolRepair 8 лет назад
You sure can! The N59FN nailer uses a very similar Trigger Valve Kit, the TVA6, and you can find it by clicking here: www.mastertoolrepair.com/trigger-valve-assembly-tva6-kit-p-13046.html The method of installation would be the same as the trigger valve in this video. I'm sure that is what needs to be replaced in your nailer, and possibly more internal o-rings. When the gun sits without use, the o-rings dry-rot and typically need to be replaced and lubricated.

Great! If you wouldn't mind providing me with a list of the other parts (o-rings) I need to replace, that would also be great, then I could order them all at once. The only thing is, I don't know how to replace those or even where they would go! Got another video?

We don't have a specific video on replacing the internal o-rings yet, I'm afraid, but we do offer an o-ring kit for the N59FN, just click on the below link to view it: www.mastertoolrepair.com/pneumatic-finish-nailer-parts-n59fn-p-45856.html On that page you can also order individual o-rings. The kits typically come with a diagram that shows you which o-rings install where in the nailer, which makes installing them a breeze. Hope this helps!

We do have a video on o-ring installation on a different Bostitch nailer, however. Click on the link to watch that video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S-QEDOf3EHA.html
