Really good video. Im putting a slightly bigger profile rsj in 3.3 mtrs long myself today. Acro props in place and cleaned out, but going to be some job lifting on my own. I'm going to use raised pallets as levers each side and a plasterboard hoist. The pallets will allow the hoist to work within its safe working load.

Another top video and of course most of this type of work is the cleaning up and it’s amazing how much crap is generated! I noted a few comments regarding pulling the last two acrows out prior to full setting of the mortar ! I always have a half bag of rapid set cement knocking about and would use it or mix a bit with the normal cement on situations like this ( have to be sharp though ) as it goes off before you can get on the steps with it lol😂🤫Besides the learning curve with your new camera 🎥 equipment you now have grown in confidence whilst explaining the various stages of the build which is commendable 💪👏👍

Thanks guys for this. Quick question, was this one where the wall continued all the way upsatirs, I assume it was? My understanding was you needed to use strongboys to needle above the height of the steel (i.e. above ceiling height). Or does that depend on whether the wall has perpendicular joists resting on it?

Thanks for the video! Quick question, is there a general rule to follow when deciding how much of the beam should rest on the wall? I can see here its about a brick's length, is that the standard or does it vary based on the length of the beam? Thanks!

hey guys great video I am doing a very similar work. Got my structure report done but the builder is asking £900 only for putting the bean in and let it settle for few days. But taking down the wall and tidy up the mess is not included. the price is only for putting the bean in. Do you think its a fair price? the bean measurement are 152x89x16 and the padstone 330Lx100x150

I don’t really get the purpose of the padstone in this case, couldn’t the beam itself pad the load onto the bricks same way as the padstone does, the beam has quite a large contact surface at the ends.
