RSJ STEEL BEAM INSTALLATION IN A DAY... ALEX IS AWAY SO MY MATE VIC IS BACK TO HELP ME WITH THIS JOB.
ITS A BIT AWKWARD AS THERE ISN'T MUCH SPACE BUT WE MANAGE OK. THE WALLS AREN'T IN THE BEST CONDITION AND ARE QUITE CRUMBLY PLUS WE HAVE TO WORK AROUND A TOILET, SINK AND SOME LIVE PIPES TOO.
WE USE ALL THE REGULAR STUFF, ACROWS, STRONG BOYS, PADSTONES ETC .
IT ENDS UP A VERY LONG DAY BUT WE GET IT DONE 💪🏽...ENJOY

If you strong boy’d on the side with the higher ceiling could you not have removed more bricks and had the lintel base in line with the lower ceiling for flat run through?

Great job there Steve. Reminds me of my first house when we were doing renovations. The random shape and size wire cut bricks, wooden lintels which had dried out and shrunk, no longer supporting anything and mortar so soft you could almost rake it out with your fingers. You're not doing your dodgy hips any favours Steve humping up and down trestles with heavy steel beams on your shoulders. You'll be like the bionic man when you get your new ones fitted 🤖😎

Im always amazed that when you start to strip out and uncover previous build work , Just how the building hasn't fallen down in someway given the very poor quality of cement and materials used in the past.. If I remember rightly you need multiple studs as the seating . Always get a structural engineer in to cover yourself. 🧱👍🏽
