What about the waste?

That's how to not fit a toilet cistern. Replace the plastic bolts with metal ones, a kit is cheap and any plumber carries replacement ones on board. Put retaining nuts and washers under the cistern prior to fit on the wc pan so there will be no leak when next time it will need to be taken apart. Finally don't fit plastic thread fiiling valves. There are cheap competitive brass threaded universal filling valves which will never cross thread. And last but not least (this is just my preference) use copper pipe and swivel tap connector instead of flexi hose that harden over time and sometimes could even burst. The last one is just a personal preference. I like the idea of putting silicone under as well instead of just a bead along the outside frame though!
