Just got my 2020 Civic Sport, I absolute love the idea of putting these LED's to replace the stock ones. As of October 29th they cost $430 which sucks balls.
I ended up getting different lights, but this light removal and installation video was still super relevant and helped me get through my install (which unfortunately come without instruction). And maybe I’m just new to doing mods myself, but that paper towel trick for the 10mm bolt was a lifesaver. Easy to drop a bolt down into the trunk if you don’t do this (seen others make the mistake). Totally agree! Totally wish everything was just screws or bolts. The plastic clips can be finicky, especially the ones in the center console for these 10th gens. Thanks for watching!
In my opinion the red light design is elegantly beautiful. The amber turn signal is great that it's sequential but it's much much nicer if we don't see them as individual led bulb being lined up. And of course the Reverse light is a major disappointment showing 3 small led and it's not bright enough as pointed out in the video
I wasn’t crazy about these taillights at first but after seeing them installed on your car, they’re starting to grow on me. I have a pearl gray hatch, not sure if these are compatible. I’m definitely in the market for some taillights. Not sure if the clear or tinted versions of these would look better with my paint. I’ve also looked at alternative taillight brands like Mugen. Any info about those or any other brands I can consider? Would love to get your feedback, thanks!
Just ordered these 322$ I had a different set from Ebay and the drivers side got water intrusion, but I like how these have the wiring harness that sticks out as 1 bundle rather than 4 separate plastic plugs that can leak water in
Hello last week Friday I've purchased these taillights and I have received them today. I was wondering if you ever found out about the extra wire with the fuse (I believe) anything I need to know about because I'm going to install them today but I will be following your steps in this video you created
TBH I'm not sure about the tinted ones. I know the red ones I have are tinted, but I'd reach out to Hirevsports to be sure. I did have a buddy that installed the medium smoked version of the same tail lights and didn't run into issues so far in terms of getting pulled over for it.

I've actually taken the video down since bmspec discontinued making them. I appreciate the love with my content/work tho! Wish I couldve kept the vid up, but the amount of comments inquiring about the discontinued part was the reason why I unpublished that install video 🙏
I went to Autozone and bought a flex magnet when that happened to mine. From then on if I remove them I kind of hold the trunk top down so the nut will come off in the socket.
Personally with this civic it has reached close to 50k miles and I didn't notice/experience any issues with oil dilution. That being said I did try my best to do regular oil changes every 3-4k miles to mitigate any potential issues surrounding that 🤷🏻♂️.
the oil dilution is only related to early crv 1.5t models. my 2016 hatch didnt even have that problem and i did my own oil changes. i just got 2020 civic si and i will be able to tell once i do my oil.
I believe the version for the hatch has a red accent on the inner design. Only other option for these exact ones for my civic were dark tinted lense. I agree the white doesn't match the silver well, but might have a better contrast with darker car colors
