Why does a wood working channel have the best tutorial for how to set up an intext pool? The part I had the hardest time with was removing the wrinikles from the bottom of the pool.
Just wanted to let you know this was the best explanation on how to set up this pool that I have found and I've watched tons of videos. Thank you so much! I just got mine all connected and ready to go!
Great video Sir! I just bought a 18ft above ground pool. Haven’t set up yet! Nervous 🤭I’m curious you didn’t put blocks on the bottom of legs. Will it sink in dirt? And can pool go on top of grass with only tarp?
Thanks! Nope didn’t sink. The posts hold a lot of weight for sure but since the liner is also on top of the ground there isn’t a contestant force pulling on the posts into the ground if that makes sense. Yep it can go right on grass if it’s level. I did sand and dirt to level it.
Consider a sand filter. It's worth the price, even an inflated price on a third party seller website. No more chemicals other than chlorine and no more cleaning and purchasing paper filters. Your water should be crystal clear all summer long. You'd need a 10" one for that pool.
Wait till you have a leak in the pool. We had a 12' for 4-5 years. No problems. Got the 15' and third year around I sprung two holes in the same area. Thankfully some under water duct tape saved me till we can drain it in august and then do a proper patch. Patching sucks under water. Adhesive binds instantly. Gave it a shot 4 times. Invest in snorkel and mask.
Explanation good. I had to duck tape the poles to get them to stay. I have a cheaper version looks basically the same. Seems pretty cheap hope it holds up.
For all of yall saying this is the best explanation to set it up..i mean its not that hard to figure it out😏😏😏 and yes we put ours up without seeing any video..the longer posts are the legs the shorter ones go across the top of the pool..whats so hard😏😏😏
Nice set up, quick and easy. Maybe you could build a small deck for it that could double as a BBQ station after you take the pool down for the winter. Just wondering!!
4:05 what I’ve done and have had Buddy’s not do is fill tge pump and lines with water from your hose you don’t want to run dry even for 2 seconds I’ve learned the hard way people I know Taft don’t don’t get very long out of there pump just a top
hey there! just wondering, we have a similar set up and are considering putting a border around the pool. how do you cut the grass so close to the liner? thanks!
Thanks so much for your speedy response! I was mostly worried about the weed whacking cutting the liner! Is there any special techniques you could share? Thanks again :)
Yeah I have knicked it a few times but luckily it was strong enough. Basically just go slow! Also making the underlayment slightly larger than the pool so the grass isn’t growing right up to where the liner meets the group was helpful.
We have had Intex pools for years. Due to a winter leak we just replaced our 16' round pool with a new one that has the same new type of outlet as the one that you have in this video. We have learned to always upgrade the filter, but when we connected it to this newer type of fitting, the fitting split! So, we purchased an Intex air water jet replacement part kit. However it will not work unless we cut a larger hole in the pool! If you agree that it is a good idea to upgrade the filter, how did you accomplish this?
Oh wow I’m sorry! I didn’t upgrade my pump but that’s the first time I’ve heard of one breaking the fitting. I wonder if you could take it to the plumbing section of the hardware store and see if they have an adapter that would work.
My hub and I are thinking of getting an Intex pool for therapeutic purposes. I have a hip injury and my husband is recovering from mini strokes. He's still my engineer, though. This was a well-done and easy to follow video. We are thinking of getting a 12 foot by 30 inch pool so we won't need a ladder. I am 5'9" and my hubby is 5 '11". He wants to get into woodworking. Love from Paul's wife Katy in central Texas hill country USA 🇺🇸. ❤ 🤍 💙
Let me ask you something else. Last year my landscaper leveled my lawn so my question is…..do I have to remove the grass and level it just like you did or can I just simply put it on top of the lawn ?
My brother has the same pool and just laid the tarp down like you said and the grass quickly died of course. So if you trust that their aren’t any rocks or clay that might be uncomfortable, I think it would work. The thick felt pad I used would be a nice added layer as well.
Yeah I’m not sure exactly how that doesn’t happen but I think most of the weight is spread across the liner and not the posts. One post on mostly sand did sink about an inch but it was okay throughout the year.
Do I have this right? You use two tarps and a felt liner UNDER the pool and a pool liner inside the pool? Also, mind sharing the type of pump you have and size?
Hi. I am I going to install the pool on top of bricks but am I going to put sand first ...or does it have to be installed on land. Or grass only? Thank you.
We put our hose over the top to fill, it was going slow so we went in to take a nap. We came out and missed our window to get the floor wrinkles out. Any tips?
Oh dang I wish I did! Some of them may work themselves out as the pool gets totally full. Otherwise you could drain some and try to get the window back I suppose. Sorry wish I had a better answer!
*"...so the pump is close to the power outlet"....thank you! Do I have to include where me legs touch the ground in the leveling process or JUST where the water will be?
I got a used pool that’s very dirty on the inside. Should I scrub it down first before I set it up or set it up scrub and then shock?? I’m new so I’m clueless and any help would be appreciated
I have the same nae=brand pool. i've gone around and inserted all the poles through the top. Then I went back and was attaching to the connectors. I can't get the last 2 poles together. What is the trick?
Yeah it’s a pain. I put the top ring together on the ground first so it’s a little easier to maneuver the last couple into place. Then when the ring is done put the poles in. Does that make sense?
I haven’t been able to find the 15’ round by 48” since this was a couple years ago so I e been pointing folks to the ones Lowes has that are 14’ and 16’. Basically the same pool just a foot bigger or smaller.
The main thing is to make sure the intake is under water and then the filter has a screw valve at the top that you twist to let the air out and then tighten it when water starts coming out. Then make sure the output tube is connected so the water goes back in the pool and plug in the pump and it should work!
I think if you don’t mind changing the water frequently they aren’t. When my chlorine got low I would definitely see a spike in algae and gunk. You could look into a salt water pool system that is better for sensitive skin I believe.
The pole direction shouldn’t matter but yeah that last bar is a real pain. I had to lift up the last two sections and get them on an angle so the bars could drop down and make them easier to connect, if that makes sense. Check out 2:05-2:10 of the video. It’s Timelapse but if you slow it down you might be able to see what I’m talking about.
@@RLLWoodworks oh okay that's good to know! Thank you!! I seen or heard an ad recently on the radio or tv that said no matter how small or big the dig is you have to call..so i was just wondering how it worked
@@RLLWoodworks we put our pool up with our digging up the grass and the grass grew and poked holes in our pool¡¡ we didn't put a tarp down 😏😏😏 or anything. I just got a replacement we'll be doing things a lot differently so our pool will last this time around!!
Would like to follow how you set up your pool, but I don’t know where to start as my backyard isn’t properly levelled. Is there any way I could message you or email you? I just need to ask you a couple of questions if you don’t mind. Thank you.
We got it right before the pandemic started for around $250 but with accessories and electrical we were about $350-$400 all in. The chemicals throughout the year weren't too bad because its a small pool. Nowadays i think a similar sized pool is around $400-$500.
@@RLLWoodworks Wow, thank you very much ! I thought it was gonna be at least 600+. Looks like my niece and nephew are gonna get a big surprise when they come over.
What is your opinion of the pump that comes with the pool ? A lot of reviewers in other videos state the pump is not big or powerful enough. And what sixes is your pool ? I am considering purchasing a 14' x 42"
Depends on how much you want to vacuum. With the stock pump I have to twice a week depending on pollen in the air and how much we use it. A bigger pump/filter is always better but we have made due for two years. Ours is 15’ x 46”
@@RLLWoodworks it should be. Thank you. Need to get a replacement liner for an older intex pool. Customer service claims new liners are compatible but it looks like they are except the new ones have 2 out flow vs the older 1s having 1. I have a new pump so it'll work perfect
One thing that is not mentioned as I found out anything over 24 inches will most likely require a pool permit from your town or municipality then you will need to have a dedicated electrical line installed and electrically inspected from an approved list from your town or municipality, and finally reinspection from the town this meaning the pool will also require a fence that surrounds the pool at least 48 inches tall , a self closing gate that can be locked when not in use as well as a approved ladder and pool alarm system.... this has to be with in your property set backs from the building dept!!! And yes this includes those WAL-MART so called temporary Intex pools ..... so good luck to you!!!
Hey there! It’s only on its second year but yes we plan to until it breaks down. Hopefully we can get a few more years out of it. Are you in the market?
That’s awesome. Depending on your climate I have heard of some people leaving them up year round. They lower the water and put an additive in it then put a cover in it. For us, it was very simple to take down and put back up. Let me know if you have any questions!!
Yeah it’s a pain. You may need to take the supports around that last joint out slightly to give you some wiggle room. If they are fully seated they are hard to maneuver. Keep trying different angles and you’ll get it.
I used sand because it was easier for me to get and also easier to level. But if you have level dirt, that will do just fine. My brother has a similar pool and that’s what he did.
I looked at the inflatable ring versions of the intex pools, but still haven’t pulled the trigger on anything. Did you consider that version? What made you land on this one?
Yeah those look good too! No specific reason in going with this one over one of those. This happened to be the one my wife could get quickly when they started selling out last year.
@@keishadover6834 I tried to make the legs be as level as possible but both years I ended up with one end that was about 2 inches lower. You will read some places that this is a huge problem but I think that's mainly for rigid side pools. Since this is flexible, it hasn't been a problem for me. So, try to make the legs (and entire base) as close to level as you can but don't lose sleep if its not perfect. Does that help?
@@RLLWoodworks just finished setting mine up for it today gonna put a bass red tailed catfish and maybe an arowana in it (it’s 1800 gallons btw) but idk about arowana cause they jump and I don’t want it to hurt itself on chicken wire
Every single one of these videos every says what they do but show zero of it and show zero of the problems they run into. Every single one. You tube is a failed directions manual.
Also every puts all the details into the obvious. Line setting up the pool. Why not show people what actually ducking matters? Like the foundation and how to get it level. And WHT problems you will run into. But no. Yall make videos showing the obvious.
