Looks like a decent lamp bracket however, when connecting the rod to the mounting the holding brackets one above the other on the side of the aquarium stand, some might find it impossible to drill a hole in the sides of the aquarium stand as many are now constructed of a metal composite material. Any pre-drilled holes within the stand are done so at the time of manufacturing. Secondly; by using set screws to fasten (and hold) the metal adjustable rods, you run the risk of stripping the threaded hole. I would recommend this that instead of using set screws, get yourself a pkg. of self tapping sheet metal screws a size bigger (about 1/2 the diameter of the poles) than the set screws and drill through both outter and inner metal tubing. This way you're guaranteed that the inner pole will never drop down inside the outter pole nor would stripping the threads over time will be a concern.

I actually agree to your comment on the grubscrew replacement for better stability. Grubscrews when overtorqued does a disservice to the overall structure not to mention threading, and it is much better to either replace them with bolts or metal screws. Excellent feedback which is great to see here. Thank you 😊

do you think that it will fit a 36 inch long tank? to have the light in the center

It will certainly fit a 36 inch (90cm) aquarium, just mount it slightly behind the aquarium so it's centred to your aquarium ☝️. Make sure you check out LitiAquaria to order 🙂 Link in the description 😌

I have a 30 inch tank sitting on the center of a 37 inch cabinet. Will this work for that or no?

Mounting this from the rear should work fine 😊

Im a year later but do would that be too much for my 29G long tank? 30 1/4 wide by 18 and 3/4s inches tall by 12 1/2 inches deep

If that's 30.5 inches then that means the tank is about 70cm. The 60cm variant suits tank sizes from 60 to 80cm, which means it is suitable for your tank. 🙂
