Why remove the trimmed bits? I really just don't know. I though they will continue to grow even when not in the substrate. Aunt it help with filtration and algae?
I just got this light, do you find the power supply makes a high pitch noise? Mine does so I replaced the power supply and the new one also makes a high frequency noise. Is this normal for wrgb2 slim? If you could listen to your power supply and let me know that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙏
It's normal, as they have used cheap components in the power supply which emits a high-pitched frequency sound. Mine is in a cabinet so I don't notice it as much 😂
@@NORIaquaCh Alright lol, thanks for the fast reply. These kind of sounds irritate me a lot even when quiet. I think I'll return it for a twinstar light instead. Do you know if they are quiet? Or recommend a light for a 60p (200USD price limit) 🫶
Try disconnecting the power for at least 15 minutes. Reconnect the power and wait for 5 minutes for the Bluetooth module to power cycle and then make sure your Bluetooth is on, you should see the light device appear in the Bluetooth list with the name beginning with "DYS" followed by random integers and numbers. This is the Chihiros light. Then go back into the Chihiros app, delete the light from the app and then search for it again.
I have a 4ft tank and bought the 120 slim , what's the best settings for some java ferns and hornwort? I have holes in the leaves and the leafs are breaking and withering, i set the light at 30% 6500k, or maybe im dosing very little of macro and micro? What's the reason?
I think the most important thing that people tend to ignore is AFB prefers still water. Let me rephrase it - Dead still water! No bubbler - no filter - no excuse of surface obstacles to get away with bubblers. You can plant your tank heavily with the least expensive plants and supply diy passive CO2 using the bell method. Your plants will produce more than enough oxygen your fish needs to thrive and survive through night/dark hours. Also of course you need to have a thick substrate at least 3 inches deep rich in nutrients and plenty of light. I am a big believer of Walstad method and fatherfish. I never buy anything expensive for my aquariums.
And i do low matanince with a sponge filter my frogbit is thriving and aquarium co op sponge filter is far better option as the bubbles do get the leaves wet they tend to dry off easily but thats due to using a bubble stone or a pad version i use from their website lol
Looks like a decent lamp bracket however, when connecting the rod to the mounting the holding brackets one above the other on the side of the aquarium stand, some might find it impossible to drill a hole in the sides of the aquarium stand as many are now constructed of a metal composite material. Any pre-drilled holes within the stand are done so at the time of manufacturing. Secondly; by using set screws to fasten (and hold) the metal adjustable rods, you run the risk of stripping the threaded hole. I would recommend this that instead of using set screws, get yourself a pkg. of self tapping sheet metal screws a size bigger (about 1/2 the diameter of the poles) than the set screws and drill through both outter and inner metal tubing. This way you're guaranteed that the inner pole will never drop down inside the outter pole nor would stripping the threads over time will be a concern.
I actually agree to your comment on the grubscrew replacement for better stability. Grubscrews when overtorqued does a disservice to the overall structure not to mention threading, and it is much better to either replace them with bolts or metal screws. Excellent feedback which is great to see here. Thank you 😊
I just purchased series 2 60cm light. I'm new to the app. Have you done a step by step of the app with sun up down times with buce setting. I have med/high light tank with co2. Thanks
I havent but the frogbit yet, my filter had the rain output extension but I threw it away because people kept saying I needed more surface agitation for oxygen. can I upload a short then tag you in the comments and you judge it for me? @@NORIaquaCh
Not the case when I keep neon tetras. They are just as hardy as black neons once they adapt to water conditions which doesn't take that long. I have had black neons die on me after I've done water changes while the regular neons would perk right up after a water change.🤷♂️
If that's 30.5 inches then that means the tank is about 70cm. The 60cm variant suits tank sizes from 60 to 80cm, which means it is suitable for your tank. 🙂
Thank you, it makes no difference on whether it is low or high, so long as the outflow from the filter is pushing and dispersing the CO2 bubbles around the aquarium. Hope this helps 👍
It would be a good investment for future uses if you plan to reuse equipment in future. For low tech you can simply lower the brightness with this light to suit requirements of a low tech setup ☺️
Why won't my frogbit leaves lay flat. They always droop in to the water and die. This is my 2nd attempt and it's the same thing. There's very little water movement and they're even in a corral. They just won't lay flat
That's a common occurrence of frogbit. You can cut off the affected leaves that a curling into the water and it will reproduce. Make sure you cut off any wilting leaves, they often wilt when the parent frogbit has successfully produced a child frogbit.
@NORI aqua ok will do...thanks. I soooo want this to thrive. I'm going to use flourish once a week after water changes. I also bought APT Zero fertilizer. Do you have a preference between those two?
@@FishRfun Make sure you don't get anything on top of the leaves of the frogbit, it else it will wilt and die. This includes ferts as it will burn and wilt the leaves. Despite what people say about frogbit being easy to care for, it isn't in the long term. Most people just keep the child plants and throw away the wilting parent plants without knowing why wilting has happened. I have found 24hr Aquarist's products to be very well formulated, so I would personally go for APT given you follow the directions. ☺️
