Glad you like it! "Measure twice and cut once" as the old saying goes. Just easier to scrap bit of paper in place of an arrow rest.

I've been installing my rug rests for years and the idea of using a stickynote as a template is awesome, Thanks!

I was hoping to see a flipper or springy style rest installed as well.

Which of the 2 arrow rests would you recommend? Not taking aesthetics into account. Thanks for the amazing video.

That's a tough call. Both have their benefits. Personally, I prefer off the shelf as it is simpler and "traditional" look.

Is it possible to install the rug rest in such a way that you can leave open the option of screwing on an elevated rest at a later point, or do the two interfere with one another? I'm new to shooting so I'm not quite sure what I prefer at this point, and I noticed you're partially covering the mounting point for the elevated rest with the side plate.

I suppose you could punch a hole out of the side plate before installing. Though most folks just peel off the side plate and discard when they want to try an elevated rest. Rest and plate material is pretty inexpensive, so very easy to replace. Could buy a second side plate when you buy your elevated rest just to have it on hand if needed.

If I want to glue material to shelf instead of using adhesive backed rest - What type glues do you recommend?
@3RiversArchery
@3RiversArchery 2 года назад
If you are looking for a permanent mounting, a glue like Barge cement would be a good choice.

My bow came with an elevated rest. First shot the fletching took the little plastic piece right off. What did I do wrong?
@3RiversArchery

First thought would be the nocking point was too low and the arrow hit against the shelf hard enough to pop it off. Though give us a call and we can talk through what you have (arrow spine, bow weight, etc.) and see what could be the issue.

Haven't needed to yet, but how would I go about replacing a rest? Only way I can think of so far is by taking a knife and gently prying it off.

A blunted tip or a fingernail to get under the sticky section. Then it should peel off. Clean the area with Acetone lightly. Just so it is a cleaned surface (no need to get too heavy on the Acetone). An arrow rest the is glued in place (Barge cement or similar) will need a bit more Acetone, but be sure to be peel it off as you apply it. You do not want the bow finish to be eaten away in the process.

How do you select between an elevated plastic rest and a shelf felt rest?
@3RiversArchery
@3RiversArchery 11 месяцев назад
An elevated rest has the advantage of less contact with the arrow to help with a cleaner release (more accuracy). Where shooting off the shelf is more dependable/sturdy as no small pieces to break.

My arrow rest warn out real quick and king of seems odd. Do you have any advice or solution? Nocking point or arrow spine etc…
@3RiversArchery
@3RiversArchery Год назад
Depending where the wear is showing would determine what needs to change. If the rest is wearing it would be nocking point as it is hitting into the rest on release. If it is the plate, then it would either be arrow spine (too stiff normally) where it slaps the plate when passing it. Otherwise it could be your release being a pluck that would have it hit the plate as well. Feel free to give us a call and we will help the best we can.

Hey, so I was looking for some public insight. I put the hair rest on my recurve and less than like 50 arrows it wore a hole right in it, went through two. Anyone else have this problem?
@3RiversArchery
@3RiversArchery Год назад
Sounds like either the nock point is too low and the arrow is dragging on it for too much wear, or the arrow is out of tune and impacting hard. I'd start with raising the nock point first.

Which is best for a flat shelf?
@3RiversArchery
@3RiversArchery Год назад
Anything that will create a bump would be best. An amazing rest is the feather rest though as it has cushion and clean release. www.3riversarchery.com/wild-turkey-feather-arrow-rest.html

It is a voice actor, but I do not believe it is Sam Elliot. Though it is incredibly close if it is not him.

Seriously. Shelf and strike plate. Oh, screw the "bear hair." Leather shelf and strike plate. Leather is FOREVER. These companies want you to buy replacement after replacement.
