How to Install an Inlaid Seat in a Saddle

In this video, I show you my process for installing an inlaid seat in a saddle. The saddle we are working on is one of our traditional roping saddles. This style of seat has been really popular with our customers.
My inlaid seats do not have any padding which allows the saddle to set as it should without padding changing the seat of the saddle. This particular style will be tooled after it's installed completely for a unique look and style.

I thought the purpose of this piece was to make a soft seat. Why not use a different material to fill the hole, like foam? Greetings from Brazil.

What is the purpose of an inlaid seat? If you had one on your saddle how hard would it be to take it out? As it looks like it making the seat wider with the extra leather? How do you make a ‘lady’ seat? Or a narrower seat ? Is it just building the seat higher?
